At the altar of the Twins

Once she had taken her fill of drink and food, [bIslana[/b] was escorted into another part of the Temple.

Again like before apart from her servant she saw signs of no one else apart from the distant chatting that seemed to grow in volume as she walked towards the heart of the Temple of The Wandering.

Her senses had still not recovered from the exposure to the Felfar. Sounds and smells as well as colours seemed more vibrant. As if parts of her perception were sharper, more attuned with the world around her.

A migraine was starting to build behind her eyes and in her temples. So much so that she haven't even considered what had truly happened to Madaya and Silina. All she could do was put one foot in front of the other and get to her final destination.

Three days she was to commune with the spirit that seemed to have chosen her as her new vessel. Maybe now she could comprehend why the Twins had selected her. A daughter of the enemies of Arcadia. Those prophesized to bring the end of the the world. But she could not hold her thoughts on the same matter for very long. There was a lack of clarity, a fog in her mind, as if she was losing sense of herself.

When she was walked into the main Temple her jaw dropped. She had seen the building from afar when she arrived in the City and brought in by Agizul but she had not imagined it to be so large.

The interior of the heart of the temple was designed with a very minimalist approach. The space felt almost like a cavern, and she imagined it could hold at least a thousand people inside. The stone floor was covered in a huge prayer rug full of concentric spirals and geometric patterns of reds, golds and browns. She could not imagine how long it had taken to make this. Or how many people had a hand in the textile marvel she saw at her feet.

The lights, colours, stained glass ornamentation and calligraphy on the walls was very minimalist however, intended to make people feel more spiritual within the space and less distracted by objects.

As she marvelled at her surroundings she caught sight of something glittering near the altar, inside a semicircular niche that she knew was reserved for the priests to lead the prayers. Next to it was a seat at the top of steps placed to its right to be used by the preacher as a pulpit.

Islana took a deep breath and headed for the stone...
