Never a dull moment

Alexis suppressed the growl that had been building in her throat during the meeting.

Recon on an island inhabited by potentially demonic, bloodsucking, firebreathing cannibals.
Seriously? There got to be easier ways if the knight wanted to be rid of them.

Oh, well. Definitely not going to be boring in any case.

Given the short notice she planned to make good use of the free reign over equipment they had been supplied with and suggested to Tarmen to do the same.

She made a mental list: extra arrows, maybe even a backup weapon- they wouldn’t be able to get replacements after all. She should go check what had been planned as provisions. Yes, they had skilled scouts and hunters, but hunting held a risk to away give their presence to the natives which she wanted to avoid as long as humanly possible.
Survival gear, material for setting up a movable base camp, maybe fortify it.
And a freaking map, even if it was only the silhouette of the thrice-damned island. They would have to update that as they went.

And so on. Alexis spent the rest of the day with preparations, and went to bed early.

She arrived at the ship even before first light, and deposited her equipment in their assigned area before seeking out the captain. She wanted to know what his orders were after they were dropped off.
After all it would be nice to know how they were supposed to get back onboard should they somehow make it out alive.

After that she got acquainted with the ship itself, watching while her party members arrived. They were a pretty diverse group. Might get interesting to pull them together.
