A young sailor burial

Timestamp: The Hogue - Day 2

Wolf looked at the cook "go get the caption to let him know what's going on." asked Wolf. Then turned to the Sailer. It would be best if you find others and get this cleaned up before we all get sick.
The cook nods at you and disappears up the stairs shouting for the Captain. The other sailor makes the sign of the Horn, a known personal ritual blessing to reflect bad luck and evil spirits. He moves away but you are not sure he is going to get this done before the Captain comes.

After a few minutes, while you examine the body, the Captain arrives. "What is the meaning of this?" he asks you.

interesting response from the captain thought Wolf. "Captain you have a murdered sailer on your ship. Someone slit his throat and cut off his left hand. Whatever did it was very sharp the cuts are clean and deep." Informed Wolf. Het that information sinks in as he gaged the captain's reaction to the news. "Someone or something killed this man I would think you would like to know that, Captain," said Wolf.
The Captain in looked from the body to Wolf and back again clearly disturbed by the sight. "That's Jalir. One of the newer deck hands...." He looked at the blood and back at Wolf suspiciously. "Of course, I bloody want to know if my sailors are killing one another..." He looked around looking at any clues. "Where you the first here?"

Wolf standing up from where he was crouch looking at the body. "when I arrived the Cook and that sailer was here I heard the two when they found the body" reported Wolf.

The Captain looked at you and the cook. The other sailor looked like he could vomit at any moment. "Go upstairs and get some air lad..." He advised
"He has been here a while. Probably since the change of shifts. The lad was no trouble..." He said unsure of how to deal with the situation...

Crouching again Wolf started to search the body. "let's see if we can reconstruct Jalir's day and what let up to this point. first who was on duty before and after Jalir's shift Captain? Did anyone hate Jalir?"

"The boy just joined us like I told you." The Captain scratches his head not knowing how to react to an obvious murder aboard his vessel. Drunken fits he was used to deal with but this? This was new territory. "We need to give the lad a sea burial. And find the bloody killer soon otherwise I will have to turn the boat and return to port." He tells you obviously worried. Under the young man's body, you find some broken glass.

Lifting the body slightly Wolf picks up the biggest piece of glass looking at it. "We can't leave the others on shore stranded here. how many crew members do you have?" asked Wolf.

"Around 20." He replied. " And we sure can if we don't catch the killer." He looked at you sternly warning you not to tell him what to do in his ship." The glass has some sort of viscous, sticky substance on it.

" Well, Captain everything I saying is just a suggestion. I suggest having all the crew on deck take to men that you absolutely trust and go deck by deck search including personal bags and chest. If you wish you can start with mine. I don't think anyone has got into my stuff while I was sick. " suggested Wolf. Putting the pieces of glass into a pile to see how much was there. see if Wolf could reconstruct whatever it was.

The Captain barks some orders and some sailors come running. The body will be disposed of as quickly as possible as its tradition with deaths at sea. He and his first mate will go around checking people belonging before addressing the crew. You find that there is little glass. Maybe enough for a small vial.

"There is enough for a small vial of glass that I have found under that body" Wolf show with his hands about the size. "We are looking for stuff like that too," says Wolf standing. "Captain, Can I have a small potch to put the fragments in? " requested Wolf.

The man nodded not really caring what you did with the glass. He and the first mate started walking around the berths and hold looking through the sailor's meager belongings. In the meantime, you go to the upper deck to watch the body and burial at sea.

Wolf gave a nod to the Captain. "As you wish Captain" replied Wolf as he walked to the top deck he check both of his blades to make sure someone did not use his stuff for the murder. as he got on deck and the crew assembled Wolf stood to one side looking at them over feet and pants for blood.
