Treat Him Like A Child! Oh My!

Umbral giggled as she caught up and started leading them to the office where they could get registered.

“En.” Piritta spun Colt around to her other shoulder. She may or may not have pulled on his tail while doing this. She bolted past Umbral into the office. No way this could go wrong.

A loud hiss escaped Colt at his tail getting tugged upon - whether it was a pleasant or pained sound was anyone’s guess, though. It took all of his willpower not to cut his claws into Piritta and he gripped onto her arm. “Please, Piritta, put me down. Now…” He said through gritted teeth.

Umbral went wide eyed and everyone inside the office looked up. They were now glaring and security raised their eyebrows. “May we help you, ma’am?” One of them asked.

“Shh.” Piritta slung Colt around again to cradle him in her arms like a baby and rocked him. “Anteeks, hän on toisinaan kärsimätön ja kiukkuinen.” She said unapologetically. “Tarvitsemme tabikortteja. Kiitos.”

“You’ll need to fill these out.” The person said and slid two clipboards toward them with sheets of paper on them full of questions.

“Thank you, sir,” Umbral said and ushered Piritta and Colt toward a table, grabbing the clipboards and some pens for them both.

Piritta carefully set Colt down in a chair, then sat down herself and started working on answering the questions. To be fair Piritta did start by answering the questions honestly… But after a while she started getting bored and started practicing writing different swear words. In Swedish for some reason.

“You need to finish the paperwork to become registered here. This office doesn’t use the technology some people do…” Umbral explained. She wished Kimber was here.

Colt grumbled, but kept working on the paperwork until he was done. “Now what?”

“You give it to the man at the desk and they put it through the system for the next few minutes.” Umbral explained delicately.

Colt grumbled curse words in Finnish before getting up and taking the paperwork to the desk, handing it over to the person. “It’ll be just a few minutes, sir.” They said with a friendly smile and stepped into an office.

Piritta turned in her paperwork and fidgeted with boredom. She started taking her pen apart.

Colt watched Piritta silently for a moment as they sat waiting. “There anything we can do while we wait?” He asked Umbral.

“Uhm…not really.” The unicorn girl replied. “They want us to stay here until…”

“Colt Westerly and Avaruus Piritta,” The person at the counter called. “You’re all set up.” Sliding two cards forward, one with Colt’s name and the other with Piritta’s, the person would smile. “If you have any questions, call the number on the back. Here are pamphlets to help you understand the uses and try your best not to lose them. They’re not easy to replace.”

“Thanks,” Colt said as he took his and one of the pamphlets. Looking at Piritta, he wondered what she felt about all of this.

PIritta scraped the counter with an edge of her card. “Mistä saan kokaiinia?” Piritta asked. “Tai mitä hyviä huumeita heillä on, kun olet jo ulkoavaruudessa.”

“Piritta!” Colt blurted, glaring at her. “You know you don’t need that shit!”

Umbral blinked, frowning. “Uhm…what’s Cocaine?”

“A drug…” Colt said slowly.

“Drugs are extremely difficult to get here.” Umbral said with a shrug. “They’re practically nonexistent since technology takes care of most things.”

Piritta’s disappointment was short-lived. If the drugs were hard to find that meant that when she did find them they would be the best drugs ever. She perked up quickly and put the card in her pocket. “Minne seuraavaksi?”

“I have to meet up with a friend,” Umbral told her. “Would you like to come along? It’s just outside the city in a more suburban place.”

“I’m fine with that,” Colt said and looked at Piritta. “You good for that? Or would you like to do something else?” He always seemed to think of her first.

Piritta considered for a moment. “Ehkä hänen ystävällään on avaruuskokaiinia.” Piritta said, deciding to go with Umbral.

Colt chuckled and shook his head. “You are a trip, Piritta…” He said, wanting to pull her into a side hug but thought better of it.

Going outside, Umbral hailed them a cab, which was an odd purple floating vehicle.

Piritta moved as if to hug Colt- then swept him off his feet and cradled him in her arms like a baby. She followed Umbral outside and looked at the floating vehicle, wrinkling her nose. “Haluaisin sinisen.”

“I’m starting to get sick of this, you know…” Colt said with a blush before looking at the car. “Can we, maybe…take a normal car?”

“There are no normal cars here, sadly. We could walk, but that would take hours.” Umbral explained to them.

“Tuo on normaali auto, täällä.” Piritta told Colt, gently bouncing him like a baby with gas. She opened the door to the back seats and carefully put Colt inside. “Kiinnitä turvavyösi!”

“Woman! I am a grown fucking man!” Colt blurted irritably, but he couldn’t stay angry at Piritta as Umbral got into the car with them.

“Joo, joo.” Piritta said soothingly as she got in too. She rubbed Colt’s forehead and murmured a Finnish lullaby to calm him down.

Colt wanted to slap Piritta right now…

Umbral told the driver their destination and they would soon head out of the city and to a house just on the outskirts of it. The small little town around it had a few others walking around, but they all seemed to be working on little farms.

“That’s her place,” Umbral told Piritta and Colt, gesturing to the house.

Piritta hopped out of the car. No, she did not wait for it to land or park or whatever floating vehicles were supposed to be before people got out of it. Piritta lost her shirt at some point too, leaving it draped over Colt’s shoulder. She landed on the ground in a roll then jumped back to her feet. She stretched her arms over her head, space cars were too cramped.

Umbral got out of the car and shook her head. “Please, allow him to walk on his own.” She said and went to the front door. At least she hoped Piritta would let him walk on his own this time.

Colt got out, holding onto Piritta’s shirt like it was nothing new to him. “At least you’re wearing a bra this time…” he muttered and followed them to the house where Umbral would knock…
