Seymour+Harris- \"How to crash a royal ship\" pt2

Who: Chris Harris and Ambassador Seymour Niples
Where: Crash landing on Mars
When: just before Keto's post
<snip>
"Do you see that pub there?" Seymour pointed.
"Now is not the time to go for a beer Seymour!"
"Tsk. When have you ever heard of me wanting to `go for a beer'? I
mean AVOID that pub!"
"Ah yeah!"
Only several metres from the ground now, the gravity pulling on the
ship was too much to change direction, but Chris could still bank. He
twisted the ship onto it's side to narrowly avoid the pub. A side
wing
however split a picnic table in half, and spilled Phil's beer.

As the ship twisted, Seymour fell to the right-hand side of the
ship's bridge. Chris fell too, landing on top of him.
"Aren't you piloting?" Seymour asked in a panicked moment as every
other loose object on the bridge slid their way.
"I'm supposed to be, but I can't reach the controls!" Chris said.
The ship was totally out of control, it twisted further, pushing the
pair both now onto the ship's ceiling.
The ship barell rolled even further and chose this moment to hit the
ground. The angled roof dug deep into the soft Martian turf, but the
friction didn't stop the ship, it took a merely slowed it down and
persuaded the ship to do a short turn, angling neatly around the pub
giving everyone inside a good view of the crash.
A hatch opened. The first thing to exit was a cloud of relieved gas,
then came a more relieved Seymour. Who pulled himself out and
plopped to the ground. Harris came out too and dropped next to the
Ambassador, wheezing from the smoke.
After almost an eternity, both of them had regained their breath and
the realisation of this dramatic event had settled in. But they
still remained laid on the floor. It just seemed like the easiest
thing to do at the moment.
Then Chris pointed up into the sky. "Look. Blue Midget!" He said
relieved. "It's nice to know they're rescuing us already!". Luckily
the ship also contained the Blue Dwarf's Chief Medical officer,
although he didn't know this at the time.
Seymour sat upright. "Damn and blast it! I've crashed the Queen's
ship! I'm out of a job!"
"Don't worry Seymour, she doesn't care. She's only interested in the
wad of cash it was insured for."
Seymour admitted this was true, but surveyed the damage. He wondered
if he could still get away with giving this to Keto. He looked at
the mile-long wreckage. "Hmm… I wonder how fussy Dr Keto is about
the condition of his ships…"
At that moment they heard a moan from the front of the ship. Seymour
limped around to see someone trapped in the wreckage of the smashed
up front end.
"Quickly Mister Harris!" Seymour said. "I believe we've run someone
down!"
"Only one?" said Harris under his breath. "Must be a record!"
He looked and saw Seymour helping a half crushed man, who looked
very pale.
"Um… Seymour… should you be helping that man? He looks a little…
grey."
"I'm not surprised! We an him over, we have a duty to help him."
"Are you sure that's wise? He looks …. Dead."
"Yes. Poor guy. We need to get him an ambulance."
"No I mean he looks… should he be making those horrible moaning
noises?" said Chris.
"I think we crushed his legs. He's probably loosing a lot of blood."
Said Seymour. "There there" He said to the man. "Don't move, you'll
just cause yourself further ….injury."
Seymour stood gobsmacked as the man had writhed so much that he had
detached his body from his legs, and was now pulling himself towards
Seymour.
"I say old boy, steady on!"
The zombie started moaning and drooling at the mouth, which Seymour
now realised was stitched up.
"Mister Harris…" Seymour said, stepping away from the zombie.
"Yes Seymour?"
"I'm going to say something that is beneath me, and I wouldn't
normally say." There was a pause. "Let's go to the pub."
They ran to the pub just as Keto landed directly on top of it.
