"Renegade"

<Snip>
He was just about to order the lieutenant to open comms but thought
against it. Ahead of him he noticed the Shell-ships bombarding the
Blue Dwarf with whatever weapons they had. Now that was something he
was a little more qualified for. Finally some real action, the major
general turned back to the lieutenant and casually stated.
"Red Alert; charge up all weapons and fire them at anything that looks
like it should belong on your dinner plate."

The now half starbug creaked under the strain of having the rear half
removed by force. It's occupants still gasping for air, they both
edged slowly towards the re-breathers that hung on the wall. Outside,
the lumpering hulk of the Blue Dwarf skimmed the atmosphere towards
them. Shells and missiles zoomed past them, exploding as they made
contact with the Shellite ships. Each one of them a little shellier
than the last.
A missile exploded on a shellite ship moving a little too close to the
crippled starbug. If the shellites were something that should be on a
posh dinner table, this starbug was something that should be on the
windscreen of a passing truck. The explosion shook the bug, sending
its occupants flying into a wall. Luckily, it was the wall they were
trying to get to, and they both grabbed the breathing aparatus. Each
of them took a deep breath the moment they had it working, and
slouched to the floor.
"We're gonna die, aren't we?" Rosette asked. Neither one of them had
been paying attention to the outside, mostly because for safety, the
front window had been covered by a metal sheet, in case of a crack.
*CLUNK*
The ship rolled slightly, The gravity of outside taking over for the
gravity Inside, sending them both rolling around the room to the ceiling.
"Git them out!" Came the voice of Captain Calvert through the hole
that had started appearing in the bulkhead that had sealed off the
back compartment. Random engineers peered through after enough had
been pulled away, but they were trodden on by the stampede that was
Andy and Rosette. The first face they saw was Jed Calvert. A face
that Rosette almost punched every time she saw it. As a mercenary,
Rosette was one of the only people on-board that could get away with
it, without getting more than an attempted punch back. She wasn't a
real part of the crew, and therefore couldn't get fired.
"Good Job!" Calvert almost shouted. He'd been watching the Pink Dwarf
since the two had left.
Calvert shuffled over to a comms patch, and hit the button. "Punch
it" he said. The landing bay doors flew shut, as well as every other
door on the hull. Slowly, the ship turned, and Callum, in
Engineering, hit the Wormhole button, sending them light years away
from the doom that was to follow.
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Stop that Blue Dwarf!" yelled Chapman. The shellite ships had since
turned their attention away from the Blue Dwarf, since the Oath-Keeper
had started shooting them. Now there was a swarm of small shells,
firing weak lasers at the giant Space Corps Battleship. A single
cannon aimed down towards the Blue Dwarf, only to miss as it
disappeared into the Wormhole.
"DAMMIT!" Chapman yelled. The rest of the Shellites were quickly
disposed of, leaving the Oath Keeper free to move upon the Pink Dwarf,
which had since stopped spinning through the air. Patterson hailed
the Battleship, The respective Captains appeared on each others
viewscreens, both of them appearing to be very slightly irate.
"They've gone too far!" they both said simultaneously. Patterson
cleared his throat. "They hacked our systems. The JMC no longer has
control of them. As per our agreement, the gloves are off." Patterson
continued. This had been planned before. None of the executives of
the JMC had any faith in the Blue Dwarf... Most of the missions that
they'd been sent on were considered 'Impossible'. The fact that they
always came back successful was a mystery that no one even wanted to
look into.
"Gladly." Chapman returned. Their agreement was over a year old. The
first sign of going against the JMC would earn the Blue Dwarf a giant
target painted on the hull, with a sign that read "DESTROY ME PLEASE
SPACE CORPS!".
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"You two, come with me." Calvert said, pointing at Andy and Rosette.
They followed him back to his office. He slouched down on his desk,
and put his feet up, knocking a pile of paper around. He reached
down, and stirred a pot of beans with a metal stick. The steam rising
from it, it was a miracle that the sprinkler system hadn't started.
"Grats." He began. "Yerv done a grand job." he added. "I can see the
piles of money now.... The hookers, the Beer..." he said, daydreaming.
Andy and Rosette looked at each other, and felt like edging away
slightly. The Captain had gone mad.
"Are the JMC ok with us doing that?" Rosette piped up, feeling rather
guilty. Calvert grabbed a bottle of whiskey.
"Nah. They hate us." he said simply, grabbing the cap off with his
teeth, and downing half of the bottle in one go. Luckily, the door
opened before anything else could be said, allowing the two an escape
route. Rosette dodged Jay's view, hoping to escape without being
asked anything.
<Tag! I think that clears up most of the questions that were asked!>
