*action* mime over matter

Who: Jay, rescue teams
Where: heading to what used to be the promenade
"Help me get this hatch open!" ordered Jay as he reached the sealed,
and very damaged hatch to the promenade deck below. As soon as he'd
heard the news about what had happened down there he'd ordered all non-
essential personell to form rescue teams for anyone who might be
trapped inside. Jay of course, had insisted against the protests of
the senior crew that he joined the rescue teams, and had left Dean in
charge of the ship while he did so, which in hindsight was perhaps not
one of his better ideas.
What was also perhaps not such a good idea was the fact that, with
most of the security team dead, or trapped in the promenade wreckage,
he'd had to draft in the Canaries to act as the ships 'muscle' in the
mean time, and it was one of those Canaries who now crouched on the
floor with Jay, helping him to heave open the buckled hatch to allow
access to the remains of the promenade, seconds before swiping his
wallet from his back pocket without so much as a pause.
Jay lowered himself into the hatch and dropped into the deck below,
landing atop a particularly unstable pile of debris, which teetered
precariously before the broken section of bulkhead slipped away from
under his feet, and Jay fell backwards and slid, painfully down the
mountain of rubble, coming to an abrupt, very bruised stop at it's base.
"OW!" he said loudly, then looked around, casting his gaze across the
devastation properly for the first time. He whistled as he took in
just how bad it was, then he caught sight of a familiar looking robot
head, sticking from under the rubble, crushed and lifeless. "aw man,
Mk.10" he said, sadly "sorry buddy..." he wrenched the droids head out
from under the debris and tucked it under his arm, maybe someone could
fix him, If not, he at least deserved a proper burial. It was now that
Jay realised just how big a mistake he'd made allowing Rosette to roam
free, knowing how dangerous she could potentially be, however
unintentionally.
He turned to Canaries who had now caught up to him. "find Rosette" he
said "bring her in...this has gone far enough"
"Wait!" came a voice, it was Wildflower
"Jenny? Why? She's dangerous"
"I know, but she's also infected with a mime virus, along with Pancake
and Jayne, it spreads by touch, were trying to find a cure...but can't
get close enough"
"mime virus huh" Jay mused "where are they?"
"over there"
"give me your medkit"
"but you're not..."
"was I asking, or ordering?"
Jenny raised an eyebrow and handed Jay her medkit.
He walked over to the mimes, and saying nothing, opened the medkit and
reached inside, pulling out...nothing.
His fingers, however, were held as though they were holding an
invisible syringe, which he mimed injecting into the necks of the
three patients, all of whom passed out unconcious.
"give it an hour" Jay said, turning to face Wildflower and handing
back her medkit. "they should be right as rain!"
< right, mime virus is cured! Lets get the ship repaired.... But evil
Seymour us still lurking somewhere....>
