Annie - "Christmas Time Travelling"

Who: Annie and Potential
Where: The Time Agency
When: Every time
Annie ran back to her desk and quickly collected pieces of paper in a flap.
Behind where she would normally sit were an infinite amount of old Television
sets which were all focussed on her universe. As she hurried to pick up more
important pieces of paper and stuff them into her satchel, she knocked off a
spinning globe which bounced onto the floor.
"Smeg!" She said, turning to pick up the globe, leaving her bag with a dozen
pieces of paper sticking out.
A hand got there before hers, and placed the globe back onto the desk, where it
started to spin again. "Earthquakes kill a thousand people." He said with a dry
smile.
"Luckily it's not habited." She shot back.
"Not for another hundred years." Said Potential, her work colleague.
"That's plenty of time." She said and shrugged.
"Or no time at all. For us." He said. "Oh the joys of being a time traveller."
He said with a powerful look in his eye.
"Potential, will you please stop standing there and help me?!" She said.
Potential stepped over and collected everything she needed.
"Calm down. This is a routine mission through the time vortex, we do it all of
the time."
"Yes we do. But you know how it is at this time of year… every time traveller in
the office is giving the `Christmas Carol' treatment to every Scrooge in the
Multiverse. The time vortex is so busy it's difficult to book a slot. I don't
want to miss this."
Potential nodded. "What's the assignment?"
"A ship has crossed into a different timeline."
Potential shrugged. "So what's the big deal?"
Annie pushed Potential away from her desk and towards the door at the end of
their office labelled "Time Vortex". The words were stuck onto glass, exciting
colours shone from the other side.
"The big deal is that my boss… our boss has asked me why this certain ship is
messing with the laws of time AGAIN. And has asked me why I didn't sort it last
time."
"Oh… it's the…"
"The Blue Dwarf, yes." She said. "I have no idea why they are causing so much
trouble. It's like they just don't want to stay in the correct universe. Makes
my job a living hell."
Potential grinned. "You have to admire the creativity of the crew."
"The creativity to make my life a pain?" She said mirthlessly.
He grinned. "Yup!"
"But I don't understand it… nobody else in the entire timeline of universe 388…
my universe… has caused so much trouble with the timeline."
Potential crossed his arms. "But why are you in such a flap about this? Surely
you can see the entire timeline of this ship and it's crew, and know exactly
where they're supposed to be and when. All of time is written. You're a time
traveller with the resources to be almost an omnipotent being. How can these
people take you by surprise?"
Annie waved her hands around in panic. "I don't know. I just don't know. The
Blue Dwarf's history doesn't seem to be set in stone. It's alost as if another
time traveller is deliberately changing their history just to annoy me."
Potential stroked his chin. "I don't know what you mean." He said suspiciously.
Annie didn't notice what he said. She paused, then ran back to her desk, then
came back with a coat. "Might want to wrap up warm." She said.

Who: Annie and Potential
Where: Prison Planet
When: After the jailbreak
After a flash of light, Annie and Potential were stood in the middle of a
snowstorm. Everything they saw around them was white.
"Woah it's freezing!" Said Potential, shivering.
Annie's face grinned from the warmth of a parker with a fluffy edge which framed
her face. "I told you!" Her blonde hair poked out from the hood and started to
blow in the cold wind. Potential was momentarily distracted at how beautiful she
looked with the snowflakes falling onto her face. Her cheeks just starting to go
red from the cold. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Fine. Why?"
"Well I didn't think Humans could stand the cold."
"I'm only half Human. But I'm fine. Humans are quite tough." She said proudly.
"Now lets find a Scientist from the Blue Dwarf."
"What's the mission?" Potential asked.
"The sooner I can get these people out of here, the less damage it does to the
space-time-continuum." She said. And showed him a piece of paper from her
pocket. "I just need to give them this."

Who: Annie
Where: Crowd of people escaping from the Prison
When: Few minutes later
Annie appeared in a flash of light inside the crowd of people running from the
prison. They all seemed happy enough, despite running for their loves away from
some Mime guards. Nobody seemed to notice that she appeared from thin air, but
she was being pushed along by the crowd. Annie had never been anywhere with so
many people, she normally liked to help from afar, and wasn't really one for
crowds. She felt nervous as more people pushed into her. She felt like falling
down and crying, but knew that she'd just be trampled to death if she did.
By sheer luck she found the person she was looking for. Through the snow she
caught site of a man. She pulled out a poloroid from her pocket and held it up
so she could see and compare. It was him.
"Rufus Febugure!" She called out. He turned, but didn't see her in the crowd.
She called again, this time he locked eyes on her. She pushed her way through
the crowd towards him.
"Do I know you?" He asked.
"No." She said.
"Are you on the Blue Dwarf?" He asked.
"Look, I don't have much time." This was a lie, she had plenty of time. But
revisiting the same point in history again got complicated. She thrust a piece
of paper into his hand."
"What's this?"
"When you get back to the Blue Dwarf you will spend some time trying to figure
out how the Blue Dwarf's wormhole drive can be used to take you back to your own
dimension."
"Yes, I have been wondering about that. I don't even know how we got here to
start with."
Annie nodded, and looked around. She felt uncomfortable that so many people
could hear what they were saying. "It will take you 8 hours to figure this out."
"Will it?"
"Yes. But I've got the solution written on this piece of paper here."
He looked at it. "This is my handwriting." He said. "But I didn't write it."
She nodded. "You haven't written it…. Yet." She paused. Hoping he'd understand.
"You're from… the future?" He said. Annie knew he was a smart young man. She
could see it in his eyes. She grinned and nodded.
He smiled at her. "Thanks."
She grinned, and then realised she was holding onto his arm. A moment of
awkwardness followed. "Oh, erm. Sorry. Well, bye!" She turned, but Rufus pulled
on her coat. "Wait… please… who are you?"
"I … err… I have to go!" She said, going bright red as she felt his eyes upon
hers. She pressed a device on her wrist and she disappeared in a bright light.
<OOC - Becca, Rufus has the instructions for how to get the BD back to our
universe now. All he has to do is get onboard and activate the wormhole drive
and he can get us all back home>

Who: Annie and Potential
Where: On top of the Blue Dwarf
When: Few minutes later
Annie stood on top of the massive blue ship that was parked on the planet. A few
inches of snow were building up on top of it's hull.
Potential appeared and walked up to her. "Did you find the guy?" He asked.
She nodded. "He was a charming young man." She said, going red.
"Do I detect a little crush?" Potential said. "I'm jealous!"
She punched him on the arm with a gloved hand. "No of course not!" She said. "I
just liked that he was really smart. He understood without lots of boring
explanation about time travel… or drawing diagrams of parallel universes."
"Ahh" Said Potential. "So he's cute?"
Annie's pale cheeks went red.
"You know you can date anyone from history, from mighty Greek warriors, to rich
Roman Emperors." Said Potential.
"Not interested." She said. "Dating's too complicated."
Potential laughed. "And what about maintaining the space time continuum for an
entire universe?"
"Piece of cake." She grinned.
They linked arms and dissappeared in a glow of light, back to the Time Agency.
