Re: [JMC_Blue_Dwarf] OOC - Virus Warning

try adblock plus for firefox (http://adblockplus.org/en/), or fanboy's urlfilter.ini for opera(http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/opera/); both these should protect you from most of the rubbish out thereadditionally it's always a good idea to use a hosts file or similar - (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm) if you're running windows these should help improve your browsing safety and speed no endoh - and happy Christmas / new year to everyone too ;)A.--- On Tue, 29/12/09, Andy Longman <sirlagerlot@...> wrote:From: Andy Longman <sirlagerlot@...>Subject: Re: [JMC_Blue_Dwarf] OOC - Virus WarningTo:

Sadly, theres very little I or the other moderators can do about the ad's shown on the site, so we need to just ride it out.

Hi everyone.I'm hoping most people here get their posts by email, so you can get this and read it, and not fall foul of whatever has happened.I just tried to go to the group at Yahoo, and my antivirus popped up telling me there was a virus on the connection.  Naturally, I hit Abort, and the page doesn't display.  It seems one of the ads currently being used has a virus inside it.If you get this message, don't go on the site for a while.  I hope they will discover this and fix it soon... I just hope everyones antivirus is good enough to notice this and protect you from it.Hope you've all had a good Christmas or other winter-time gift giving festival, depending on your religious or social requirements.Thanks.------------ -----Andy Jones
