Monkey business

OOC - this was a JP between SMAndy and myself
<snip>
Rosette was conveniently distracted by a new creature which materialised in the
corridor nearby. Instead of being a holographic Krylon, this was a large
ape-like creature with an exposed brain. "That's not a Krylon." Rosette said,
then shrugged. "Chris must have changed the program." She started shooting at
it, and Justin walked away.

Who: Charis Harris and Holly
When: An hour after Rosette shot the ape, just as phil and Dean get to the
docking port
Where: Various.
"Holly? did you change the holograms?" Chris asked as he stood over the corpse
of a monkey that looked like it had been scalped. It layed on the floor, a
smoultering hold from its chest where it had been blasted.
"No mate, that thing appeared earlier... some kind of spatial vortex." he said,
knowingly. "Rosette shot it, I think."
"are there any more?" chris asked, holding onto his gunblade. He was worried
they might be an actual invading force.
"Yeah, I'm picking up quite a few over the ship..." Holly said, "they're all
over the place, like monkeys in a zoo."
"Nice analogy there Hol. Turn off the holograms and pass a message on to all
security staff about it. Where's Rosette?"
Holly glazed over for a second. "No idea... Can't see her on any cameras."
"hmm... I wonder what's going on..." Chris mused...
"Oh hang about." Holly said, just before Chris was going to leave.
"What is it Hol?"
"I've found a pattern... oooh look how clever I am!"
"What's the pattern?"
"The monkeys are appearing within a fifty metres of Mickey Pratt Bellhorn. Do
you know him?"
"Yes, he's the fella who appeared out of the blue last week after going AWOL for
a few months. The smegger said he's been gone 15 years or something, not sure if
I believe him though."
"The monkeys are definately appearing near to him." Said Holly. "He ran away
from the medibay, and went to the flight deck. The apes followed him."
"Where is he now?" Chris asked.
"He went to Fourth Base with Efof. I've just checked the station's sensors. The
monkeys are appearing there now too."
"Smeg" Said Harris. "Their security team might not be able to deal with an
invasion of this size. We have to help them."
He headed towards the
--------------Meanwhile--------------------
Where: Fourth Base
When: Short time later
Onboard Fourth Base, high in the station - the executive suits to be precise, a
near-corpse dragged itself towards the comms system on the wall.
"Security..." he managed to say as he pushed the button, then collapsed.
Further into the room, a large ape-like creature sat at the desk, its brain
exposed in its head. The ape walked over to the body on the floor, and took its
own brain out, placing it on top of the human.
The brain slowly seeped into the skull of the man, and disappeared, leaving, for
a moment - two corpses.
Slowly, the human - the one in charge of all operations on Fourth Base, rose to
his feet, and stuffed the ape's unanimated body into a cupboard. Just in time
for a security team to show up.
"sir? is everything alright?"
"yes Jim, it's all good. I thought I saw someone on the monitors, but I was
mistaken." he said, sitting down at the desk.
With mild skepticism, the security team left, and went back to their posts.
"Now... where is he.....?"
Jim climbed down a ladder through the maintenance tunnels to reach the Passport
control deck as fast as he could. He was tempted to swing on the ladder rungs
for a little longer, but fought back the ape instinct inside him.
He walked out onto a balcony which overlooked the queues in passport control.
"There he is!" He said as he saw Micky stood with a blue Ffionian. Jim reached
for the gun in his pocket, but a voice behind him stopped him from raising it.
"Jim! What you doing here, this isn't on your rounds!" Said a man who clearly
knew Jim, but the monkey inside Jim's head wasn't ready for smalltalk. He was so
close, he didn't need a distraction right now.
"I'm...urrr.. just on a walk." Jim said, coming up with an excuse.
"Oh no worries. I'll let you carry on." Said the voice. Jim couldnt believe his
luck, he was relieved that it was easy to get rid of the distraction.
As the man walked away, Jim prepared to raise his gun again - ready to aim at
Micky. But a smell caught his nose.
"Is that... banana?" He said, transfixed.
"Yeah!" Said the other man. "I have banana sandwiches. My wife made me them-"
"Give them to me!" Shouted Jim.
"What?"
"GIVE ME THE BANANA!" Jim yelled.
"Jim, are you feeling okay?"
"THE BANANA!"
"Jim, are you sure you're okay, that doesnt sound like you?"
Jim froze. He realised he was going to give himself away if he continued. "Oh...
sorry." He said. "SOmetimes I just really like bananas."
"Haha!" Said the other man. "Anyone would have thought you're a monkey or
something!" He joked.
"What? Who told you?"
The other man's brow furrowed. "Its only a joke."
"Oh. Good. I'm not a monkey."
"Good."
"Yes."
"Well cya Jim."
"Bye."
Jim leaped over the balcony, swung on a lightfitting like a chimpanzee, and
landed directly in front of Micky and Efof. He pulled out his gun and aimed at
Micky's head.
"Come with me." Jim commanded.
"What? No way dickhead!" Micky said.
"Is there a problem here?" Asked Chris Harris, stepping in front of Micky, with
Phil and Dean next to him.
Jim crouched on the ground, and leaped at all three of them.
<OOC - I should hopefully post again tomorrow, but I've ended it on that
cliffhanger in case someone else wants to continue it here in the meantime. Jim
can be killed if you want to, he's not important to the story as long as you
mention there are other apes trying to capture Micky>
