Efof's flashback pt1

Who: Efof
Where: In a SpaceEagle
When: During the battle
The invisible Mauve Midgets were getting the better of Efof. His Space Eagle had been hit many times by surprise attacks, and he couldn't take many more.
He decided to take the direct approach, and headed straight for one of the four Starbugs that were broadcasting some sort of energy pulse that was disrupting the wormhole drive.
Something bounced off his windscreen and Efof's heart raced, he thought it was a Midget firing the last blast to finish him off. But it was a small grey stone, it bounced off, leaving a small trail of dust. A second hit, and then a third.
It was a meteor shower, a travelling cloud of rocks just passing through. He watched as the small rocks crossed his path, like thousands of raindrops catching the light. To the left of his target he saw an empty patch of space, where the small stones weren't penetrating.
"Got ya!" He said, and rolled left just as the ship decloaked. As it passed by he tracked it, firing all he had at the gap in the meteor shower.
The gap exploded, and Efof swung the ship around, aiming at the Starbug, waiting for a missile lock. A split second before he pressed his trigger, his Space Eagle was slammed into by a much much larger meteorite the size of Bristol.
With his craft stuck to the large rock like a splattered fly on a car windscreen, Efof was swept away from the battlefield. Inside his smashed craft, oxygen started to leak and Efof started to dream back when he was a child........
**Flashback**
Who: Efof Yuwan'Kar (12 years old) and his parents
When: Over 1000 years ago
Where: Ffion
It was a balmy night on Ffion, the sun was setting and created beautiful shades of orange and red in the dusk sky of the paradise world. The Yuwan'Kar family lived near the shore of the planet's largest sea, which seemed to never be too far away. Practically everyone on Ffion lived near to the sea, and never took the beautiful clean beaches for granted.
Their two story house was made of wooden slats of a local tree similar to bamboo. On Ffion all the houses were built like this, so that nothing ever felt out of place or ruined the natural paradise-like qualities of their planet. Even the skyscrapers in the cities were made of bamboo with plants growing up them.
Efof's mother was already at the beach, singing with the other locals a lovely enchanting melody that crossed the calm ocean.
"Efof what are you doing" His father shouted up the bamboo stairs.
Upstairs, the young Efof was holding a torch up to a big science book full of pictures of spaceships and unbelievable scientific gadgets. "I'm not coming dad!" He shouted down. "I'm bored of singing on the beach, we've done it every day since I was 5!"
"That's only 7 years!" His dad shouted up.
Efof sighed and then buried his head back into the science book. He turned the page and saw a domed city rising above some clouds on a metal skyscraper, surrounded by smaller flying spaceships. It was one of the coolest things Efof had ever seen, mainly because it wasn't made of bamboo like almost everything else on Ffion was.
Of course Ffion had technology. They built rockets and had even started planning a space station to orbit the planet. But most people rejected anything that either spoiled their beautiful natural landscape or got in the way of the things they liked doing, which were natural things like singing n the beach, picking flowers, growing corn, and fucking like a mad bull on heat.
They were quite liberal people on Ffion, there was pretty much no taboo subject.
"Okay well I'm going to he beach." Said his father from the doorway. "Make sure you release your fluids, okay son?"
Efof went from blue to red with embarrassment. "Dad!" He cried.
"Well, remember the little talk we had. Keeping it all in is bad for you. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Here are some tissues." He dropped the tissues onto the floor in front of him.
Efof looked away and pulled his hat down tighter over his head, he couldn't believe his dad was having this conversation with him.
"Did you practise how I told you? It's good to practise, it means when I introduce you to a nice young girl your hat won't fly off your head and surprise her."
"Dad! I just want to read my books okay! I'm not going to be doing... that." Said the young Ffionian.
His dad nodded and turned to leave, but then turned back "You really should you know. It's bad for you. Releasing your fluids stops you from getting pregnant."
Efof looked up. "What? That makes no sens-"
"It's true." Said the older man. "If you don't release your fluids, the great gamut-tiger will come round and rape you in your sleep, and plant a seed in your belly."
Efof scoffed. "Those are just fairy stories dad! Nobody believes them any more." He pointed to his book of science, something that he knew his father didn't like him having. "I know how babies are made."
"It's true." His father insisted. "That's how you were conceived."
Efof stood up and tried to leave. "Dad! I don't want to know about how I was conceived! It's bad enough grandma telling us every year at the winter festival."
He picked up the science book and threw it at his dad. "This explains how everything works. It explains how we reproduce, and it's not some legend about a tiger, it's science! A sperm cell and an egg..."
"Bah, science! What's that good for?" His father said in disgust. "A bunch of hippies trying to change our world." He pointed to the metal skyscraper in Efof's science book. "See that? That's what science wants to make, a grotesque scar on our beautiful natural landscape. It's hideous!"
"But there's better things to make houses out of than bamboo!" Efof argued, but his father argued back.
"No there isn't son. No there isn't."
