Spirited away

Who: Cassandra, Ishani
Where: Cannon control 822-4C

Frowning, Cass picked her way through the blackened debris scattering the floor of the cannon control hub, her two LED's standing motionless behind her, covering the single entrance to the tiny room
"I know the Huzard's have plasma weaponry now" she murmured, eyeing the scorched and blasted equipment "But why...?"
She purposefully let the sentence trail off, leaving her suspicions that this might have been the work of one of the Enforcer's left unvoiced
Ishani kicked at a smoking piece of the ruined cannon control systems
"Yeah, doesn't make sense" she agreed "Why would the Huzard's do this?"
"No idea" Cass shrugged "I'm a pretty strong advocate of either their genocide or forced relocation - They're far too dangerous to have aboard with us"
"Brutal, but effective" Ishani nodded "I like your style"
Cass wrinkled her nose
"Yeah, well... It's not such a popular viewpoint at the moment, but just..."
She stopped, frowning as something pinged in on one of the LED's sensor feeds
"What?" Ishani demanded sharply
"There's something..." Cass started as the LED's was suddenly hit with a burst of plasma fire, flatlining it's vital signs and blasting smouldering debris back across the room
"Smegging shit!" Cass screeched, franticly scrambling for cover up against the wall nearest the door and directing the remaining LED to rattle a sustained burst of heavy fire off down the corridor as she hammered her fist on the door control panel, sealing the blast doors
The remaining Elimination Device barely lasted the couple of seconds it took for the door to close, another plasma blast hitting it hard, destroying it in a single shot
“Smeg's sake” Ishani yelled as the door hissed closed "You need shields on those smegging things!"
"Yeah, alright!" Cass snapped, her fingers dancing across the door controls, securing it against outside entry "I was working on that!"
"Who the smeg was firing at us!?" Ishani asked
"Well, it's either one of your lot or the smegging Huzards" Cass growled "We don't have weaponry like that!"
Another few blasts impacted dully on the other side of the door
Ishani frowned
"There's no other way out of here, is there?"
Cass made a show of looking around the tiny room
“Uh... No”
“Got any ideas?”
Cass shrugged as another few bursts hit the door
“Dunno... Call for help?”
“That's not much of a plan” Ishani muttered “Are you sure that door will hold?”
“Sure. It's designed to withstand all kinds of shit, and you'll need my kind of system privileges to open it from the outside”
“Excellent” Ishani smiled, pulling a fag packet sized piece of equipment from her utility belt
Cass frowned
“What's that?”
“Oh...” Ishani sighed, tapping the devices screen a time or two and thumbing the controls “Just a neural effector”
Cass spasmed as soon as Ishani activated the device and collapsed, twitching, to the floor
“I'm so sorry about having to do this” Ishani murmured, crouching down to roll her over into the recovery position “We know all about that crude neural interface of yours, and quite honestly it's the fastest and easiest way to incapacitate you”
“I'm not happy that is has to be this way” she continued as Cassandra's nose started to bubble with blood “I mean, for better or for worse, you're a key player in my life right now; but if I don’t to this right here and now, we'll create a paradox that'll dwarf the one Brittany engineered”
“Gnnnnh” Cass managed, through clenched teeth
“I've got to say this, though” Ishani smiled, brushing Cass' hair back away from her face “Chysler's got great taste in women”
She stood, and tapped the comms kit on her wrist a couple of times, summoning a swirling blue black time vortex
“Ok, let's get out of here”
The temporal maelstrom monetarily expanded to engulf the two women before collapsing in on itself and vanishing along with them almost as quickly as it had appeared
