OOC - DJVII

Hello there lovely BDers. I wondered if any of you had considered going to this year's Dimension Jump, the convention for Red Dwarf fans. It'll be on the DJXVII will be held over the weekend of the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May 2013 and held at the Birmingham City Centre Holiday Inn.

Here's there website for more info

I've actually never been before, mostly because it looks like a bit of a sad affair, for the real RD super nerdy fans. And in Blue Dwarf, we're not the super nerdy fans, we're the super cool fans.
Photos of the even have always made it look a bit of a creepy stalkerish event, although I've heard from everyone who's ever been that it was actually a riot, and an amazing experience. I wondered if this year I should finally do it and attend, see what it's like, and I wondered if anyone would like to meet up there?

They talked on Scuttercast about last year's where Craig Charles & Chris Barrie did a funny sketch, and it sounded worth seeing. Plus, Antony and Ian from ScutterCast are going, so I know there'll be at least some cool people there.

Prices are £80 (I almost wrote $£ there - wouldn't it be cool if it was charged in dollorpounds?), as we've missed the earlybird tickets. But that doesn't include a hotel room, and it's unlikely you'll get a room in the same hotel.

What do you think? Reckon it's worth going this year? It's been a big year for RD, with a new series, and another on the way. It's also been a great year for us on Blue Dwarf, with some great stories and an exceptionally cool podcast, and I just feel good about stuff!
