RE: [JMC_Blue_Dwarf] **Action** \"Latecomers to the party\"

Far away, in a storage room outside the medibay, John Smith's light bee lay
on the floor, abandoned by its owner in one of his frequent bouts of
pananoia and depression. Suddenly, the ship gave a violent shudder and his
light-bee was pitched forward down the hallway, into the Hangar, into an
open Starbug hatch (how convenient). The tiny capsule smashed into the
ship's control pannel and fell to the ground. By yet another sheer
coincidence, the bee activated as it's miniscule controls whacked against
the not-do miniscule controls of the 'Bug. This had the side-effect of
activating the crafts auto-pilot.Unfortunately for Smith, the autopilot had
been dismantled some time ago by a certain "pilot" who shall remain
nameless.....
A weasly looking man materialized on the floor.
Standing up, the X-files wannabe glanced out at the hanger.
"Oh Smeg." Smith calmly commented, as though this was no big deal.
The Starbug's anti-grav thrusters activated.
Smith activated the electric chair controls.
The 'Bug jerked forward.
Smith leaned back.
The 'Bug zoomed towards the closed doors of the Hangar.
Smith zoomed towards the hazy realm of his sub-conscious, a place he often
retreated to out of reflex.
The electric green ship punched a large hole in an otherwhise nice enough
looking hydraulic door with a soundless crash.

>Where: Blue Dwarf, Drive Room
>Who: Captain Alota, Efof Yuwan'Kar, Seymour Niples, Chris Lister,
>Mark McJohn and Elian Sandoval
>
>Seymour breezed into the Drive Room wearing a top hat and suit. He
>stepped over McJohn and Sandoval who were laid under a desk fixing

>Alota was stood sipping a mug of coffee studying a star

>groaned. "Mister Ambassador, for what do I owe this… pleasure?" she

>
>Seymour missed the sarcasm and beamed back at her. "Well hello
>Captain, I'm here on official Royal business!"
>Alota sighed again. "Look Ambassador we're a Jupiter Mining Ship…
>true we barely actually do any mining, but we are out here on a
>mission, we're not just a taxi for you to do that spotty royal
>tart's biddings you know!" Her lecture had not sunk in with Niples
>though as he was watching the new navigation officer Chris Lister at
>the navigation computer. Efof was showing him the basics.
>
>"Any good?" Seymour asked. Alotta shrugged. "I suppose we can't get
>much worse than Efof!" Seymour chuckled. Lister pressed a button at
>his navigation console and the entire ship lurched violently,

>He got up and dusted himself down. "No, surprisingly still not as

>
>Alota raised an eyebrow and thought she better get this over
>with. "Okay okay, what do we have to do to please the Queen?"
>Seymour took a map out of his breast pocket. "This planet has just
>been discovered by a team of Patrick Moore clones on a deep space
>observatory satellite, I have orders to see if it is inhabited, and
>establish trade negotiations. The Queen is bored of every type of

>and smiled. "Ooh I feel like sir Walter Raleigh coming bringing
>newly discovered goods from foreign lands…"
>
>"Save it!" Snapped Captain Alota. "This planet is thousands of light
>years away."
>"We can use the wormhole drive!"
>"But we can't just jump into the middle of a new system, there could
>be anything there!"
>Seymour gave her puppydog eyes.
>"Alright alright! If it gets you and you annoying top hat out of my
>Drive-Room then we'll go! Lister, plot the coordinates into the
>wormhole drive- Efof make sure he does it right please!"
>
>Seymour took his hat in his hands and looked at it. "What's wrong
>with my top hat? I thought I'd try and show a bit of class around
>here… unlike some other people!" He glared at Chris Lister who was
>wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
>
>Chris turned around and wondered why he was being glared

>"Okay lets get this over with." Said Alota, nodding at Efof who took
>over and engaged the wormhole drive.

>Drive Room
>"SHIT!!!" Said Alota.
>Seymour twiddled his thumbs. "Oops-a-daisy…"
>"Get us out of here now! Wormhole?" barked Alota.
>"It needs some time to charge, we can't use it straight away." Said
>Efof sheepishly.
>"Dammit!" Said the Captain. "Well best speed away from here…" She
>moved Lister out of the way and looked at the Navigation
>map. "There's an asteroid field not far away, get us into there.
>These ships are bigger than us, they won't follow us in."
>"But they have plenty of little attack ships." Said Seymour
>pessimistically. "They'll be more manouverable than us in there,

>Alota sighed. "Well we better get some starbugs and fighters out
>there, both to defend us against the Hymenoptera fighters, and to

>Outside, the large ships turned to track the dwarfstar vessel moving
