Re: Aint alcohol a bitch?

Where: Parrot's Bar
Who: Probably 3/4 of all the people aboard the ship.
When: As the brawl starts to escalate
<SNIP>
"What the smegging hell are you waiting for?!", screamed Dean as a
particularily brutal looking brawler began wailing on him.
"Oh..." Smith paused for a minute. "I remember now! Space Corps.
Directive No. 124976-C clearly states I'm supposed to KICK SOME ASS!"
<END SNIP>
Eric had been watching with amusement as Jay had started to attack
the guy who had been wishing to... violate his wife. Eric hadn't
touched the new drink yet as he doesn't like 'fancy' cocktails - a
scotch or a beer is good enough for him. Eric saw Jay, Dean and
Smith, as well as a couple of other people, became surrounded by
drunks. Probably, half of them were prisoners who were let out during
the celebrations because the guards weren't watching them. The other
half were probably guards.
Then Eric realised that he couldn't see Alota any more, so he got up
to check, and the few others who remained at or near the officers'
table had the same idea.
Johnny moved to a quieter area and spoke to Holly. "Alert the
security staff, there's a situation, and there are only non-Security
personnel to deal with it. Again."
"Alright then, dude. I've got them all located and I'm letting them
know. Geez, I reckon it might become a riot soon. Well, it's
certainly lucky you got those things on your arms, Jackson."
"Legs too, Holly. They're called 'Cybernetics'. And my name's Johnny."
"Whatever. Good luck, I'm gonna go hide behind a table or somethin'."
The affects of the drinks were started to have a major effect on the
patrons, and most of them got into the spirit of the brawl, with
about thirty or more sides, with that number seeming to change every
two seconds, and Eric was sure he could see someone throwing
uppercuts at himself. While Eric and Johnny weren't trained as
security officers, they were no strangers to fights and had worked
together on quite a few missions, and Eric, who had the greater
experience, took control of the group of pilots and technicans, who
were quite blocked from Jay's group, and couldn't see Alota still.
From somewhere on his person, Eric brought out a starters pistol, and
fired it in the air, as far away from his ears as possible. Despite
it's loud noise, no-one seemed to take notice. A quick thinking
technician emptied his wallet, full of small change, on to the floor.
Eric, Johnny and the rest of the group suddenly followed suit, when
those who could hear the coins stopped fighting and dived for the
money.
By this time, most of the sober people and the others who decided to
stay away from the fight (about 10 in all), and the bar was just a
huge mass of people clubbing the person nearest them, with tables on
their sides or overturned. Many people were passed out or knocked
out, lying on the floor, being tramlped on by other patrons. Eric,
Johnny and the NPCs finally fought their way through to Jay and the
others.
"Where's the captain?" Eric shouted out to Jay above the din.
"I think she's twenty metres ahead of me." Jay yelled back.
A blood-curdling scream could be heard from the direction of where
Jay thought Alota would be, all but confirming her position, and
showing that she was okay, at least okay enough to genitally
dismember someone.
"I hope Phil gets the water cannons in - at least that might slow
down some of them, I've noticed once one of these drunks fall down,
they can't stand up again. Hopefully the water cannons will help
enough of them to take a nap." Eric yelled to Jay.
"Water cannons? Since when does this ship have water cannons?" Jay
shouted back.
"All JMC ships have had them since the disaster on the Yellow Giant
ten years ago. Of course, it's a little known fact and it was only by
chance that I came across the documentation."
Eric noticed that Jay was no longer paying attention to what he was
saying, when a flying body slammed into him, knocking him over.
"Smeg!" Eric shouted as well as anyone can when being slammed to the
ground by someone bigger. Using the strength in his cybernetically
enhance limbs, he managed to stop the man's body from pressing down
on his rib-cage and interfering with the operation of his lungs and
other major organs, but still the guy landed on his shoulder. Eric
was stuck, with pain lancing through his right shoulder and his right
arm becoming trapped, and his left arm wasn't strong enough to push
the masiive guy off him.
Eric had almost worked himself loose when a chair was broken on his
head, and his world went to black.
