Adrenaline

The faint growl of a werewolf could be heard behind the trees. Lifted the hem of her long dress, she reached up to grab a dagger that had been tied to the inside of her thigh. Pulling it out slowly, she let the light dim from her finger. Breathing heavily, she walked through the woods trying to stay as silent as possible. Paranoia over took her and she quickened her pace. This is not the way to go out, I should have stayed in my house, should have never come out.

Another growl echoed through the woods; she could taste the metallic salvia that was normally accompanied by fear. In the process of trying to stay covert, she stepped on a twig. The sound of the wood breaking beneath her weight, sent a chill up her spine. As though her muscles had a mind of their own, she lunged forward. Her breath felt cold in her lungs. With every pace, she could feel the adrenaline pump through her veins. There were no foot steps behind her, but she could see the moon spread light on a bare surface. Running forward she turned her head to look behind her; yet at the sound of hooves, she stopped in her tracks. Looking up she saw Artem and his horse.
