In good time

Bare feet embraced the earth beneath her. The occasional fidget of the forest brought comfort to her, whereas to most it brought uneasiness. She dared the friends of the night to approach her. She longed for the attention of another individual, good or bad. Except, she knew the requirements of her deal. A pure soul, a noble soul, a soul that would see God when it left the earth. That was the soul she needed to feed the Devil with; otherwise their deal was off.

A hum settled in the air, provided by yours truly. It was a warrior’s hum, one that they sung when they knew the outcome of the battle was only one thing; death. Her hand brushed through her soft locks, falling down her neck and moving through the air around her, as if she were dancing to an unseen crowd. Her nature seemed unnatural, demented if you will. For the most part the voice in her head left her be. After all, she had been fulfilling her side of the bargain for six years now.

Her fingers made a beckoning motion, which invited a snake to join her in the dance she made through the forest. Golden peeks shined brighter at the sight of such a magnificent creature. Squatting down, she offered her hand towards the serpent. It coiled itself around her arm, and she continued to move through the forest and towards the road that led both to Ragodast and Hartford. Reaching the road in impeccable timing, she set the serpent free, and took a seat at the edge of the forest. Crossing her legs and pulling her dress over them, she got comfortable and waited for souls to approach. It was a dead road for most of the time, except when the occasional traveler was moving from one Kingdom to the other. "All in good time will I wash my hands in the purest of blood once more, all in good time."
