Distracted by the past

Artem didn't look at her at all, but just kept staring down his glass, lost in his own thoughts. Because of this he was only half listening to her confession, but still heard enough of it to get the point. He wasn't even mad at her for having pretended to have any money, though he had hoped that she at least had a little more than himself, which wasn't much.

When realising that he now had been sitting and staring into his glass the whole time, he had to do something. He looked up at her with a quick smile before getting up "That's allright. For a moment I thought it was something serious.". Then he picked up her glass, almost already on his way to the bar once more when asking "Same as before I guess?". Without really waiting for her answer he quickly left, hoping that she hadn't noticed how fake his smile had been.

Back at the bardesk he had their glasses filled once more, but didn't return to the table straight after. For a moment he just stared at his ale before deciding to try and drink it all at once, knowing this would help make the memories go away.
