She couldn’t make out what he mumbled to himself, but shrugged it off. The swaying of the horse made her rock in a manner that reminded her of a lullaby. A quiet rhythm was sung in her head, but leaked into a delicate hum. The weight of the days travels bore down on her shoulders and lower back, causing a slight hunch against Artem. The hum continued and her eyes grew heavy; it wasn’t too long before she let her head fall just a smidge- jolting her back to a state of awareness.

The trail seemed as though to narrow out, offering two paths that Artem could take them down. The only issue is that both trails seemed hardly used, with no recent tracks for her to decide the one that lead to the city. Getting closer to the break in the trail she noticed flames in windows. “What do you think of it?” A cold chill moved through her body; the night offered hardly any warmth to her, and her body heat escaped through the top of her head.
