Not Quite

-Ragodast. Late Afternoon, 1 DSTR-

Isai matched Auriel's pace and direction as they moved in the general direction of the stables, which also led them right behind the dirty pervert. Isai found the man's scent to be quite offensive, causing him to bring a well-manicured hand to his face to cover his nose. It was an oppressive scent, a combination of day-old vomit, dried piss, and spilt liquor. Glaring over at the man, his eyes widened slightly as he saw Auriel moving towards him with her tail beginning to snake around towards him. Laughing softly as the man fell to his rear, Isai smirked before spitting at the man and speaking, "Keep your eyes where they belong. We wouldn't want you to trip again would we?"

Shaking his head, Isai turned around so that they could start towards the stables again. However, his step was interrupted when he heard a scurrying movement before the telltale sound of steel running against hardened leather. Turning around to see the man standing with a dagger in his right hand, which was missing its middle finger. Chuckling softly, he put up a hand to stop Auriel from reacting before stepping towards the smelly man. Seeing him readjust his grip on the handle, Isai reached into his tunic and brought out a small sheet of parchment which bore his official seal drawn out so that it was easily viewed.

Watching as the man's eyes widened, Isai laughed and stepped forward with his right hand holding the parchment out. His left hand was moving to his back and grasping the handle of his own dagger that he kept hidden under his tunic and strapped to his abdomen. Stopping just out of lunge distance from the man, Isai smirked before speaking, "Mikael...you poor, poor man. I know that taking your business would send you out of the capital, but I had no idea it would drive you out to a wretched place like this. And to alcohol as well it seems. Well, if you had just paid your taxes in a timely manner."

Snarling his lip up, Mikael stepped forward before lunging towards the tax collector with a thrust of his dagger. Taking a quick step to the right and inwards as he drew his own dagger, Isai slashed across Mikael's right forearm. Splitting the muscles and tendons with the slash, Isai rolled his arm around Mikael's in order to hold his hand under his elbow with the tip of his dagger digging into the side of his neck. Squeezing and raising his arm in a threatening manner to break Mikael's arm, he smiled when he heard the bastard's dagger clatter to the ground. Letting go of the man, he stepped to the side and patted him on the shoulder before speaking in a soft voice, "You stupid fool."

Driving his blade into Mikael's chest with surprising speed, he moved closer and glared into the man's eyes as his life ebbed out of them. Feeling his hands moving to claw him away, he pulled the blade out and ran it quickly across his throat. Stepping to the side to avoid getting sprayed with arterial blood, Isai watched the man fall to his knees and clutch feebly at his neck in an attempt to stem the blood flow. Walking around behind the man, Isai glanced up to meet eyes with Auriel through her visor before placing his right foot on the man's back. Pushing him to the ground, Isai stepped over him before settling beside Auriel. Pulling out a handkerchief, he wiped his hands and blade clean before dropping the handkerchief. It was a simple white cotton with no markings to connect it to him and he had gotten no blood on his clothing during the process.

Sliding his dagger back into its scabbard, he readjusted his tunic over the weapon to hide it yet again before speaking, "Shall we continue?"
