Still Not Getting The Hint

River chose to keep quiet and allow Serenity to speak with Tamara. It was easier this way since she felt so emotionally exhausted from the day. Sure, it had felt very satisfying to tell off Alexei earlier, but that had taken a lot out of her. The anxiety from letting those words slip free was still lingering in her mind.

She did note how stressed this pizza delivery girl was about her brother. A part of her suspected something was going on, but she chose to keep her mouth shut for now.

River was not one to nose around in other people's business.

When Max arrived, Kevin was busy at the counter with the last customer of the day, trying to explain in painful detail how best to care for the bird they had just bought. The look on the customer's face would tell anyone they really did not care about the blonde's opinion or explanation, but they couldn't leave without some help.

Bonnie, still on Max's should, made a little sound that could only be interpreted as a giggle. Her owner never could get the hint.

Stefan stepped out of the back room with a clean travel cage for the customer and offered Max a wave. Setting it on the counter, he inadvertently saved the customer by sending Kevin off to Max and finishing the purchase.

Walking up to Max with a big smile on his face, Kevin said, "I would've picked her up from your place, you know. Bonnie really likes you, after all."

To add more proof to the blonde man's words, Bonnie refused to climb off Max's shoulders.
