Shouldering her pack and making sure her assortment of weapons was just were it belonged, Alexis walked down the plank without so much as a look back.

As her father liked to say ‘If you make a decision you might as well fully commit.’

Now he probably didn’t have in mind her leaving everyone and everything she ever knew back in Garrah to set up camp in nary explored Arcadia, but oh well.

He was long dead now, and wherever he - and mother - might be right now, they had hopefully better things to do than worry about their daughter. It wasn’t like she was leaving anything worthwhile behind, quite the contrary.
Including that thrice damned ship.
She had really started to despise it, sitting idle on it for all this time.

That at least wouldn’t be a problem much longer. It would appear they were already rounding up the newcomers to put them to work. She could appreciate work finding her instead of the other way around.

Sidling up to the more experienced fighters she had done most of her socialising with -exchanging battle stories and respective skill sets- she joined the flock of people who had come to Arcadia to offer their sword arm for adventure, glory, riches… or simply to find occupation, just like herself.
