Negotiations

Alexis wasn’t terribly surprised to hear about the villagers’ animosity towards Helians. Really, she didn’t blame them.

So a girl had gone missing? Well, should they allow them regardless of their reservations, she would definitely help.
And if that helped to improve their standing, all the better.

She smiled at Zargari, sincerely grateful.

“Thank you so much for your advice. We will see what we can do. And we would indeed like to see what you can offer for trade. What are you looking for in return?“

The man looked at Alexis. "We have much to trade just not sure it's what you are after. Prices will vary depending one that you require. We usually find use for almost anything. Will you consider parting with your horses? They are in great demand in Fang and you will likely not have any use for them if you are traveling into the desert." He suggested.

“Clothes, at the very least. Sounds like our current getup isn’t particularly desert proof.”

Alexis rubbed her chin and looked at Tarmen for his input.

“The horses… I would consider it. However given that our passage to Gra’akast seems less than secured, we would end up pretty stranded should there be no convincing the villagers or the caravaners.”

Tarmen agreed, though torn as Alexis was in making that choice. His brow, slick with sweat again, furrowed considering their limited options.
“If we lose the horses, are we to just walk through the sands on foot?”

Zargari smiled and shrugged slightly. "You most do what you feel suits your needs better. If you wish to sell the horses we can offer you 50gp plus a couple of desert tents, outfits and some gear for your trip." He offered.

Alexis nodded, considering the offer.

“I think we would like to give it some thought and see how willing the villagers are to negotiate. How much would you want for that equipment without the horses in exchange, just in case? And how long will you remain here?”

"We are leaving tomorrow at first light. We can sell you the equipment you would likely need for 10gp." He offered.

“We better think fast, then.”
Alexis sighed.

She went over their funds mentally. They could afford this and keep the horses, but it certainly didn’t sound like they would be realistically able to get them through this dessert. Too much provisions to bring if they couldn’t replenish them easily. So the horses would probably be better off going with the Atsigani.

“I do believe we are interested in the equipment you offer either way. Maybe we will be lucky enough to settle things with the villagers swiftly. Who would you suggest we talk to regarding the missing girl?”

They really could use a rest, but it seemed they would not be granted it just yet.
