Alexis did her best to check thoroughly for the missing girl’s whereabouts, even though she didn’t expect to find anything with what Berus had told them. She searched the outskirts of the village anyway, understanding of the parents’ desire to exhaust every possibility.

More than once she stood captivated before the literal ocean of sand that harboured their next destination. She had never seen anything like this. Its seemingly boundless expanses served to make her feel very small.

When she wasn’t occupied with that, she helped with any odd job the villagers where accepting of them for, in particular for the strange but friendly farmer.

It might have been that little bit of artisan blood running through her veins, but when taking a break she caught herself quite often watching the eccentric man tinker with fascination.
Once again she wished she was better versed in the languages of the locals. She would have loved to learn more about this man that seemed just as out of place as they were, but could not bring herself to pester the shaman for translating idle chit chat.
