The Desert Game

Having a chance to breathe after their trip was something Tarmen would cherish while he could. Finally being able to properly fill his gut also helped ease his heavily fried nerves, though he would have preferred stronger spirits to truly start the healing process. It also would have helped soothe his growing cloud of doubts, questions, and other troubles that had been weighing on him for quite some time. Tonight he needed the distraction.
He did hope the games could make up for that, his intellectual hunger being summoned by the assassin’s little game. He doubted those here could bring the same hints of danger to the sport, but anything would do at this point.
Nearing the site, he hung back to see how they played and what stakes were being called on between contestants.
