Not that simple

Great Desert of Skulls

Agizul and Amastan exchanged worried looks. They hesitated for a few heartbeats, before the Water-Bearer stepped forward and addressed Islana.

"I know the last month brought a many changes to your life, and that we are marching to war, where danger will be around every corner..." Agizul started in an advisory tone. " But you are too important to our people and efforts here to use you as bait." He attempted to explain. "You will have to learn that you cannot rush into danger or try to sort every situation you find yourself by yourself." His tone remained deferent to their leader.

"Plus no haven't had sightings of the Skara so close to Ostiarium in decades." Amastan added. "Are you sure it's the critters?" She asked almost apologetically not wanting to sound disrespectful.

Behind them the war camp was starting to stir. Band and Sept leaders awaited only the call to come so that the Horde could continue to move.

Islana pondered the advice she had been given. Maybe tonight when they stopped again she could use her powers to reach out to whatever it was out there in the dark, following the Horde.

Maybe it was time she faced her fears and recover the use of her abilities...
