To Touch The Divine

The sensation of Ereuhin’s touch made Voah shudder with an overwhelming surge of cold, that branched out and enveloped her entire being with a sense of profound ecstasy. It was both terrifying, yet comforting and reassuring.

“Yes…” Voah whispered. “Praise be to thee, O resplendent Moon Goddess.”

The serenity that slipped through Voah felt simultaneously electrifying, like a jolt of energy coursing through every nerve and fiber of her body.

She felt her perception expand. It was as if a veil had been lifted and suddenly everything became clear; as if a path previously obscured had become illuminated and accessible.

“To thy…” Voah gasped as the sensation intensified. “Boundless… celestial… majesty!”

Voah convulsed, and for a second, her essence was not of the world, allowing her to glimpse the interconnectedness of all things, before it all contracted again.

What Voah had known for the briefest of moments slipped away like sand through her fingers and left her temporarily blinded and weak in the knees. It seemed to be the way of Gods and prophets to speak cryptically about visions, as if recalling and poorly explaining a dream. She understood that a little better now.

Now it was done. Whatever IT was. Then, as Voah’s sight slowly returned, Ereuhin receded like a shadow in the wake of twilight's descent, her form dissolving into the ephemeral embrace of dusk. Like Voah’s whispers carried away on the wind, the Goddess vanished into the ever-reaching darkness, the colors of the fading day swallowing her presence. Voah was left behind in the dying wake of ethereal beauty and unanswered questions.

She had understood the gist of Ereuhin’s words, but there was still so much that remained unclear. She wondered if she would see the Moon Mother again. Perhaps Voah would someday SEE the answers to her unasked questions manifest. Would she have the wisdom and foresight to recognize them when they did?

Regardless, an echo of the deity’s essence still lingered. Voah was left quivering with excitement, feeling awakened, with a heightened awareness. She was instilled with a deep understanding and acceptance, as if she had been seen and embraced for who she truly was.

Whether or not she was being used or given a boon was uncertain and irrelevant, she carried a touch of Divinity that ignited her spirit with a sense of purpose and inspiration which left an indelible mark that could be seen as the reflection of the moon from the glint in her eyes.

“I humbly thank you,” sighed the Arbiter to the night.

She would find Sir Eudon Zane and deliver Ereuhin’s regards. If she was to reveal herself, let it be on her own terms.
