Hot Pursuit

Ostiarium
JP with Omni, Bandorchu, and Lucian

Alexis cursed - under her breath, because clearly she was going to need it for running. She wondered how many Ozainae exactly were here wreaking havoc. She also wondered how their esteemed Duke was so surprised by the consequences of their actions. Maybe his intelligence wasn’t quite as omnipresent as he thought.

“Another one!”

She let Tarmen know, just as she started giving chase. Here was to hoping her home advantage would give her the edge in this race.

Whipping around from getting ready to take off towards the figures he saw, Tarmen had a moment to note what had happened and saw Alexis running again. He really couldn't be surprised at this point that it wasn't just one thing to think about. Tarmen questioned giving a prayer for the men he had sent, committing to it since THEY still held faith. They would need it.

Seeing their quarry steady himself to continue fleeing, he followed dutifully followed Alexis into the smoke.

Alexis and Tarmen chased the saboteur through Ostiarium's streets, the evening pursuit intense with the dramatic backdrop of orange flares and smoke. Alexis felt a strong urge to keep staring at the flames wherever she saw them, but was able to focus on the matter at hand.

The dark robed man, hailing from the holy city of Gra’akast, was no stranger to navigating urban environments, yet he found himself relentlessly pursued by two very determined defenders who knew their home turf better. Curses on the Helian that had stolen the Brotherhood’s best map. His desperation and a pain in his leg did little to shake off his pursuers. He must get out of reach. The chase culminated in a dead-end alley, trapping him between the cold stone of the city and the two Helians.

With nowhere left to run, the man faced his pursuers, his expression full of defiant resolve. There was a moment of tension, a silent standoff, before the man bounded onto a stack of crates and into the second story window of one of the warehouses that was on fire.

The two had noticed a point of ingress nearby, just around the previous corner, but when they located the side entrance, it was blocked by fire.

The scenario was a strange echo of that night of the fire when they found Gonyaul and Voah near the quay in Gra’akast
