Sister

Islana sat on the Skelep, immersed in the stark beauty of what was known as the Odsier winter plains. Rainclouds hung like grey gossamer in the eastern skies. She suddenly surrendered to a vision where the essence of the Twin Gods was revealed in what seemed to be the impending conflict.

The words of Amastan and Agizul echoed in her mind, “Sister… ister… ster…”

Sister.

Suddenly, Islana stood on a vast open plain. Yther, the goddess of life and water stood just out of recognition. She transformed into an expansive, boundless sea, her essence fluid and all-encompassing, her surface a mirror reflecting a moonlit sky.

“Sister?” She whispered.
The vision shifted, showing the invaders as dark silhouettes standing at the edge of the desert, their shadows stretching long and ominous. Remnants of stone buildings jutted from the sand like broken teeth. But as the Helians advanced, the sands beneath their feet began to quiver and shift, heralding Viher’s wrath. With a deafening roar, the sea surged forth behind them and the sands split and collapsed, manifesting the Twins’ formidable power, the Helians shadows mixing with Ozainae, waves towering high, then crashing down upon them all, swallowing them whole in a display of unstoppable force.

Beside this tumultuous scene, Viher stood silent until he finally became the desert sands, his presence solemn to the inevitability of death and decay.
“Sister?” He whispered.

Sister Locust’s gaze turned to the horizon where the sea had reclaimed the land, signifying not only the end for the invaders but also hinting at something deeper… more ancient.

Sister?

Islana awoke. Face to the sky. The faces and figures of her closest advisors surrounded her, including the Skelep, Ch’Truta, and Kaithak. Tents and tarps were being raised around her by command of her most loyal, all making sure that the Horde did not see her in this irregular state.
