Finding A Dry Place

JP with Omni, Bandorchu, and Lucian

Alexis and Tarmen came across Captain (formerly Sergeant) Carver, who was already looking exasperated with the evening's shenanigans. She promptly directed some guards to transport the Brotherhood captive to the Stoneshade Keep's cells and ordered the disposal of the recently deceased brother. With her familiar friendly sass, she remarked, "Should've guessed you two would be somewhere nearby. Right into the thick of it, hey? Looks like Cambena's taken care of the rest." she turned to bark orders at another group of city guards. "Hurry up over there! Like to get back to my PISS-ALE now!" She then gave a casual salutation to the two as they headed to the keep. "I'm sure I'll be seeing you around."

With that, Tarmen and Alexis found their way back to Stoneshade Keep in short time. The city was buzzing with activity and starkly different from the quiet, depressing husk it felt like when they had arrived. As they were walking through the courtyard, they found Sir Eudon Zane heading the same way toward the Keep.

It was a questionable pleasure to meet any of their leaders, especially when Tarmen wanted to ‘take a look around’, quotation marks and all.

Out of the three men however, her former commander was by far the most welcome sight, and Alexis greeted him respectfully.

Seeing the Tin Man made Tarmen wary of their plans. Ofcourse the hound would look after his master’s estate.
As they were now however, they hadn’t done anything but protect the city, so his casual nature reigned as he greeted Zane.

“Proper evenin’ eh? Any more of the near-do-wells caught?”

Sir Eudon Zane, noticing Alexis and Tarmen, paused in his brisk stride towards the Keep, an unreadable expression crossing his face. The rain, which had died down a bit, spattered across the pauldrons and chestplate of his shining armor.

"Aye, Frespit. An evening I'd rather not have repeated. And no, we've had no others brought in yet. This is your handiwork, I gather?" Zane asked, his eyes flicking momentarily to assess their condition.

Like everyone else about, the two were soaked, but the evidence of close encounters with smoke and fire was hard to miss from the soot that bled down their cheeks. More so on Tarmen than Alexis.

“His mostly.”

Alexis nodded to Tarmen. Credit where credit was due.

“He took the majority of the heat, quite literally.”

"All to earn my keep. Someone has to show these soldiers how it's done."

The attention brought to their condition made Tarmen involuntarily wipe some of the debris from his face, smudging the grime between his fingers. Then looking between Alexis and Zane, he gestured towards the Keep.

"You headed in as well? As much as I love the wash, I would prefer to be inside before I chafe."

Sir Zane responded with a dry chuckle. "By all means, my lady..." he said in jest as he gestured toward the doors. "I'd think a bit of rain and soot would be a welcome change from the usual mud and blood. But come, let's find a dry place and something stronger than rainwater to wash away this grim evening. "

With that, he turned and made his way toward his office just off the courtyard of Stoneshade Keep.

Alexis looked at Tarmen and gave a barely perceptible shrug when the knight’s back was turned to them.

It was probably better not to shun that invitation and with some luck less taxing than dealing with the whole triumvirate like they had before.

Tarmen gave a look of resigned sarcasm, fully aware this wasn't his desired task. Even if he didn't want to talk to the bastard, there was no point trying to evade him. Clever hound would smell something amiss for sure.
