Changes

Islana had recovered more and more over the month that followed. Going to the property had been a good thing for her. Determined to for her new start, she decided to put her mind into helping Alexis with the property, and her hunting. She was aware of what property it was but opted to not go anywhere near the stone and try, as much as she could, to focus on what could be more than what had occurred. Recently, returning to her duties as a hunter. With a new bow, quiver and arrows.

Not the one that the Duke had given her. Instead a new hunting bow, made specifically for her. Brought with the proceeds of selling the one the Duke had
given the huntress.

The redhead had thought about given the elegant war weapon to Alexis but she really needed the money to buy a new one. So, it was sold. Anything, left after the purchase was used for things needed for the land or home.

The time with the cult and the investigation had changed the young woman. She had a new found maturity about her. Islana however had still not spoken much of that night. There were some exceptions to that, for one, Boyce Blackwood. In a way; talking to him about the experiences had helped in her healing. Not that she said that but it was true.

Another topic had been brought to Alexis by Islana, in the month, Islana had told Alexis about her past. All of it but the calling animals part. There was not only a trust with Alexis, which made the decision to tell her not a difficult one, but the other woman, probably, needed to know in case Vasant showed his face or had sent others after her.

The quotas for the hunters had been increased but Islana, especially with her new bow, had no problems fulling then. As was the case once again as a deadly shot hit the deer that had been the target of the huntress. Last deer she needed for her quota for the week. Getting down the woman, looked over the animal, it was a large buck. The antlers alone were huge.

Going about her ritual of silently thanking the animal. Then getting to work with a basic butchering, so it would be easier to move. A few of the older hunters had shown her a few tricks to make the butchering easier and quicker. So, it didn't take overly long, then the huntress was headed back to drop off the deer, collect her pay and head home.
