Lorem’s Playground - Part 1/3

French Headquarters - Gemma’s Workshop

In Gemma's workshop at the French Headquarters, Lorem, the lovely blonde young gnome, was hard at work fabricating her latest creation: a steam and clock powered grenade launcher. She had a scrum meeting with Gemma and her crew earlier that morning upon first arrival and they decided the best approach forward was to divide and conquer the scope of work. Gemma and the large majority of her workers, that she could spare for these projects, worked in the main area to start construction on the larger vehicles. Meanwhile Lorem and a few helping hands were off to one corner of the room fabricating the small but intricately detailed hand cannon and it’s nonlethal grenades.

The workshop was a bustling environment, filled with the clinks and clangs of metalworking tools, the hissing of steam engines, and the scent of oil and machinery. Shelves lined with various gears, cogs, and clockwork mechanisms adorned the walls, showcasing the brilliance of gnome engineering. The scent of oil, welding and metal lingered in the air, a testament to the countless creations that had been crafted within its walls. In addition, to the industrial sights, sounds and smells were the lively noises of workers conversing, barking commands over the noises, and shouts of eureka and exasperation.

Lorem's design for the grenade launcher was a fusion of elegance and functionality. Its brass body was adorned with intricate engravings and ornate details, reflecting the Victorian era mixed with steampunk aesthetics. The wooden stock had a comfortable grip, ensuring steady handling during intense moments.

With meticulous precision, Lorem assembled the sleek brass body of the grenade launcher, etching intricate designs of gears and flower covered vines along its surface. The wooden grip, adorned with metal engravings, provided a comfortable and steady hold. The weapon had a retro-futuristic charm, seem less functionality for loading and delivering its projectiles and was well-balanced. This first prototype was gnome size, for herself, with the intention on making a larger standardized version next for others on her team to use.
