The Captives

JP with Jaxx and Cindy

That is very likely. Well, they must not have what they want, I suppose, or I would be dead already. I thought it might be money but if they didn't contact you, then who will they contact?" Wayne seemed puzzled by all of this. "Does anyone else know about the kidnapping, that you're aware of? I mean anyone that might try to help us?"

Lily was happy to see her father again even under bad circumstances, however, she still had trust issues with him. To make it worse she was in no position to reveal she was part of the Order now. So she decided to downplay it rather than give him false hope. She replied, "Sorry even if noticed we are gone, I don't see how they could find us." Lily looked at the outcold Dr. Jackal hoping he would wake up soon and bust them out, but she needed to keep her wits about her. Who knows what was on the other side of the door? As she hugged her father she tried to focus on listening to any voices nearby.

The sound of the door unlocking could be heard. Two men came in the door, one was carrying a tray of food. The other is a pitcher of water with some mugs. They said nothing just put the tray, water, and cups down on the table and left.

Lily's father uncovered the tray. It was sandwiches, just some roast beef and a slice of cheese between two slices of rye bread. There were four sandwiches altogether, and some grapes and shelled walnuts. Her father sighed. "I don't think they know how to make anything but sandwiches or stew. It's what they serve me every meal." Still, the man sat at the table, leaving another chair at the table open for Lily.

Lily was a bit hesitant to touch the food. She looked at her father and asked, "How do we know it's not drugged?"

"There's no way to tell but they have not drugged it so far and it's all we will get to eat until tomorrow," Wayne replied. "I tried not eating it, but by the second day they were forcing me."

Lily raised an eyebrow at her father after he told her he was force-fed. She then cautiously sniffed the food and examined it to see if it was drugged. Her enhanced senses would let her know if something odd was in the food. Of course, she had no intention of revealing her secret just yet.

There was nothing unsavory hiding in the food, from what Lily could detect. Her father ate a bite and drank some water, but nothing happened as he kept eating.

Lily was still uncertain as she saw her father eat the food. She looked at the sleeping Dr. Jackal and then at her father again. She had a bad feeling and was not sure how to address it at this point but she knew she needed the good doctor to wake up. She then replied, "I see. Well, I'll check on the good doctor to see if he has recovered yet." Lily then checked to see if Dr. Jack was dead or sleeping soundly. She was worried he might be wounded as well.

From a precursory inspection, Jackal didn't seem to be injured. Of course, it would be impossible to tell for sure without a more complete investigation. It though seemed just like he was sleeping soundly. It wouldn't take much to figure he had been, likely, sedated or some kind of magic was keeping the doctor in this state.

Lily was relieved to hear the good doctor’s breathing but was still concerned why he was still asleep. Then she was scared as her puffy red eyes failed to hold back her tears. She was indeed scared and her only hope was sleeping soundly in their prison. However she knew it was only a matter of time before the good doctor woke up, so she wiped her tears away and rested the good doctor's head on her lap as a sort of pillow. As a teen who was dealing with personal trauma and now a prisoner of some kind of cult, she was in way over her head. She tried to calm down as she hoped things would work out in the end.

About an hour later. Three men walked in two were guards who had brought in the trays but the other man wasn't familiar, he was an older man, in a suit with gloves on his hands. When he spoke it was in English but with a thick Greek accent. He looked down at Jackal. "Was word sent to the doctor?" The Greek man asked one of the two men.

"Yes, Dimósios Archigós (public leader) Staniadis." One of the men responded

"If, she doesn't give it willingly, take it from her," Staniadis responded, then turned to Lily. "Give me your necklace."

Lily was scared as she saw the men approaching and demanding her necklace. She considered being defiant and attacking the men but after seeing her worn-out father and the out-cold Dr. Jackal she reconsidered for the moment. She glared at the men before she pulled the necklace off and threw it at them as she replied, "Chock on it." Then she continued to glare at her captures.

Staniadis raised a hand as if he wanted to hit Lily but instead, just said. "i would suggest you watch yourself, Miss Lavigne. Whether your stay with us is difficult or not is up to you." He picked up the necklace and handed it to one of the men. "Make sure that is sent to Lady Elizabeth, we want to be certain she knows we have Miss Lavigne."

"What about the doctor?" one of the guards asked.

"I don't believe we need anything from him, just yet," Staniadis replied. The three men turned and left, locking the door behind them.

Lily waited till the men left before she checked on Dr. Jackal. She checked if he was breathing and used her enhanced hearing to see if she could hear the men outside her room.

Jackal was breathing just fine, relaxed as if sleeping. Lily's father said nothing as the men came in and took her necklace but after they left he did turn to her. "They will make things hard on you if you don't cooperate. I know because they made things hard on me."

Outside the room, the three men stopped. One of the men said, "Are you sure this will do it?"

Staniadis replied. "According to that man, Mr. Sable, Lady Elizabeth's caring nature is her Achille's heel. That note with the necklace, should lead her right to us. Then we can get that thorn out of our sides."

Lily was not too keen on what she heard as she kept her feelings and thoughts to herself as she was pretending to check on Dr. Jackal in front of her father. She realized they planned to use her necklace as bait for Lady Elizabeth. She almost growled a bit before she regained her composure. Once she was recomposed she replied to her father, "You seem to be under the illusion they will let us leave here alive. Once we are no longer useful........well, I am sure you will know what will happen next." Lily then stood up and dusted herself off as she made her way to her father's side and took a sandwich and sniffed it to make sure it was indeed safe before she took a bit of it. She needed to find a way to wake up the good doctor before things got out of hand but had a feeling they drugged him. So as she chewed the food she pondered her options.
