Bass Da da da …
Bass Da da da …
Bass Da da daaa …
As tequileiras do funk e assim…

The music filled the briefing room as DeVirr stared down at the holographic display, her finger pushing the brightly colored gummi bears through the maze of passages and tunnels that made up the underground area of the projected landing site.

“You're still working on that?” Royce announced looking over her shoulder briefly before settling in the seat next to her.

“I just have a bad feeling is all.” DeVirr announced with a frown as she moved the assorted gummi’s back to their starting position. “This whole mission has a come fuck-up my day vibe to it.”

Royce nodded his agreement. ” There is something that stinks about it.”

“Everyone fucking knows about this site and we’re sure as shit not going to be the only ones that are gonna get tasked to run the corridor.” DeVirr noted aloud. “It’s like command wants to set up an engagement with the enemy right out the gates.”

” I’m sure that's what they are hoping for.” Royce nodded his agreement, collecting a gummi off the table and tossing it into his mouth. “There is a lot of campaign points to be had in unit level combat events and having the Tunnel Rats engage the enemy early on the campaign will generate a lot of hype.’’

“I’m just thinking that there has got to be a better way to do this.” DeVirr frowned as she started pushing the gummi’s through the maze again.

Royce shrugged, grabbing another gummi off the board and eating it. “ I’m sure there are a lot of better plays that can be made but Command isn’t thinking about that. They’re looking for screen time and campaign points.”

“Has there really ever been anything in the corridor historically that was worth the effort to deploy a whole team to collect this early in the game?” DeVirr thought aloud.

“Not really.” Royce offered thoughtfully. “Ammo, Gear, Supplies, and sometimes vehicles and exotic tech but mostly its just more of the same shit we already have.”

”So beyond the possibility of choice exotc tech there is really nothing there worth the effort to forward the whole team to collect.” DeVirr an evil smirk taking shape on her face.

Royce noticed the look and leaned forward. “What is that twisted little brain of yours cooking up DeVirr.”

“So fuck caches…” DeVirr announced. “ Rather than deploying the whole team why don’t we have a single body run the corridor and grab the choice tech and boobytrap the rest? Let the enemy waste their time and resources trying to recover this shit.”

Royce looked at the map thoughtfully. “A single body playing cat and mouse against X number of possible enemy combatants could generate a lot of public interest and possibly earn the SSA an ass load of campaign points.”

“Command is setting us up to go unit vs unit so why not reduce it to one body and allocate the other assets to other higher value taskers.” DeVirr offered.” I’ll go …just me … I bet something this suicidally stupid will get command hard for the possibilities.”

Royce nodded. “Commands is a greedy bunch of fuckers so they’ll likely go for it based on the viewership numbers alone and whether you live or die wont matter to much to them. You can always be recycled after all.”

DeVirr could only shrug. “ And if i manage to collect some exotic tech in the process I bet they’ll wet themselves in joy.”
