Brief History

The Shaeldrohas was a noble High-Elf house. Holalana Shaeldroha was the illegitimate child of the house’s leader. Holalana’s mom died during childbirth, a result of a curse placed on her by Holalana’s stepmom. The curse was also supposed to kill Holalana, but the warlock refused to curse an innocent child that had yet to be born. Holalana’s father took her in and raised her amongst his other children. Holalana studied diplomacy, languages, merchant skills, and etiquette, amongst other things. Holalana’s stepmom hated her and did everything to drive a wedge between Holalana and the rest of the family. Holalana’s siblings were mixed bags, some hated her, some liked her in secret for fear of their mother’s wrath, none of them loved her. The only person who loved her was her father.

In 1460, the Shaeldroha family was exiled from their homelands. Her father was jailed. Her stepmom took off with the other siblings, abandoning Holalana. Holalana was determined to free her father. She needed money and lots of it. She met a conman who taught her the tricks of the trade. This mentor was always asking her to pony up money to fund the cons, and she was barely making more than she spent. She discovered her mentor was exploiting her, lying about expenses and never contributing to the cons' costs. After discovering where he kept his money, she set him up to be arrested. She then took his money before the authorities could get it. She realized he had more than enough to do what she needed. She went to check on her father and found him hanging. Based on the smell, he had hanged himself a month ago.

Holalana tracked her stepmom and siblings to Elturgard in their attempt to find a new sugar daddy to leech from. She arrived just in time to see Elturgard get sucked into Avernus.

With no family left, she was finally free to be herself. She just had to learn who that was. In the meantime, she would continue to work her cons. Eventually, one of her cons fell through. She disguised herself as a homeless man but was caught by slavers. The slave caravan also had a boy about fourteen years old, something was off about him, she could tell. Eventually, the caravan came under attack by werewolves near Longsaddle. She was injured when the cart overturned during the attack. The werewolves brought her back to their cave to heal.
