The emergence of Metas, people born with extraordinary and often terrifying abilities, has changed the world forever.

Superhuman strength, speed, telepathy, energy manipulation, regeneration... powers once thought impossible are now a reality.

But there are no Heroes.

When the first Metas appeared, the world didn't build statues for them. It built laws.

Classified as potential living weapons, Metas are screened, categorized, monitored, labeled, and licensed. Some are sent to specialized schools designed to teach them control. Others are fast-tracked into government programs, military service, or specialized careers.

And for those with particularly useful abilities?

There are always corporations willing to pay.

Mega Corporations, wealthy individuals. Private security firms and government agencies compete for access to the most powerful Metas. Some offer scholarship opportunities. Others offer contracts that blur the line between employment and ownership.

For ordinary people, Metas are simultaneously celebrities, threats, coworkers, classmates, and neighbors.

For Metas, the question is much simpler.
