---- Snip ----
Jay piped up again. "We have Amber Keats in our cells. Has the Space
Corps got any charges against her?"
"Not as far as I'm aware no." Said Baratt.
"Sweet. I'll go liberate her." Said Jay, and left the room to head
down to deck 13.
---- End Snip ----
Amber stared out of the window at the stars, cuffed to the chair she
was sat in waiting to see the head of Deck 13. Dressed up in her
Canarie uniform, as it was a status symbol in the prison she thought
back on all the people who'd died in the Hymenopterra raid, her bunk
mate had died and she was so alone now. Such profound lonliess was
something she had only felt when she spiralled down into her Bliss
adiction and coming out of the other side with rufus at her side. This
time there was no one there to help her back up on top again. They had
condemmed her to rot in this place of metal and anger.

Two grunts came out of the office and dragged her in to see the head,
and to her suprise Jay was there as well.
"What ar....." She began to ask.
"Silence Keats!" The head honcho behind the desk barked. Jay made a
sign for her to be quiet. "It is the will of the Space Corps and the
JMC that you be released. All charges against you have been dropped
due to them never existing in this timeline." His face suddenly warmed
and he smiled as the grunts aproaced again and unlocked her cuffs.
"You are free to go Amber." Jay said walking over to her. Amber sat
in disbelief for a few moments, her brain not really understanding
what had just happened to her.
"It's April fools day right? You are joking?" She asked, standing
and undoing the velcro colar on her prison suit. Jay nodded and the
head of deck 13 made an agreing noise. Amber flung her arms around Jay
and sobbed. "Thank you... thank you for helping me." she managed to
get out between sobs.
*****
Amber paused outside the door to the Defence office. Keats was off
ship for some reason and Amber needed to see someone. Her mother was
pleased she was out, and they had spend hours catching up. So now she
needed to tell Jack, her uncle. She knowcked on the door. Wearing
civies as she had not been re-instated yet, not untill tomorrow. She
walked in and smiled at him.
"Hi Jack... how about that drink you owe me?" She smiled and stood
at the door, unure of how he'd react to her intrusion.
