Where: See above
When: See ab...oh.
=======================
Tara gritted her teeth and made some more notes on her paper. She was
still laid up in bed for the most part. Someone bumped into her for
the tenth time and she growled at them.
"Get off me you oaf." She cold feel Keto's glee at her annoyance, even
though he was at the other end of the room.
"Cleavage, get your nose out of that book and start helping patients!"
Keto shouted at her, grinning coldly to himself, "We've got too many
in here for you to just be messing around and doing no work as usual!"
With that, he turned back to doodling his ideal personal starbase on
the back of Tara's revision guide.
Tara launched a book at his head in frustration and gingerly got up
out of the bed. She picked up a med-kit and grouchily applied aid to
the nearest person.
"Ow! That hurts!" Said the unfortunate patient.
"Think you can do a better job of it?!" Tara grumbled waving her arms
around at the patient.
"No ma'am...." He said and became very quiet.
Tara heard a sudden yell of surprised anger from over the far side of
the room. She glanced up just in time to see Keto, having just opened
a large ointment cabinet, being knocked the floor by a pair of Jessies
as they tumbled out of what looked to be a secret passageway hidden
behind it.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY SECRET ESCAPE ROU..." began Keto, until he
spotted Tara listening in and hurriedly continued,
"...my...secret...hidden room with the things I need to treat these
patients?"
Tara finished up sewing up the man and pointed him in the direction of
check out. She ambled over to Keto and smiled.
"Something wrong Sir?" she said, with layers of added disgust.
"Yes," snapped Keto, "My medibay is full of people. This is not how
things are meant to work!"
"They DO need medical attention, you know."
"Oh really?" said Keto, pointing to where Alandra and Kevn sat in the
corner, "And what, pray, is wrong with those two over there?"
"You mean apart from the fact that she collapsed in her quarters for
no apparent reason?" asked Tara sarcastically. Keto turned red.
"I WANT MY MEDIBAY BACK!" he shouted.
Tara flinched slightly. Keto hadn't had a proper rant for a long time
now. She wondered if he was going slightly soft. She smiled at him and
turned har back, looking over her shoulder she said:
"I'll go find out shall I Charlie?" She said, baiting him to make him
shout.
"I AM NOT CHARLIE!" Keto bellowed after her, before casting a brief
glance towards one of the shelves along the wall. His glance turned
into a longer look, then a stare, with panic entering his eyes.
Suddenly, he turned pale and made a bolt for his office door.
Tara, confused by this, looked at the shelves too, but all she saw was
a row of ointment bottles, jars and a large empty space in the middle.
Something pressed at her memory, something important that failed to
make it's self known to her. She shrugged and went over to Alandra,
jabbing a sedative into her, not taking any precautions after last time.
Something flickered in her mind and she left Alandra and bolted for
Keto's office.
"He's gone. Hasn't he?"
Keto had his back turned to her, rummaging in the cabinets in his
office. Finally he stopped, his shoulders sagging. Without turning
around, he replied quietly, "Yes. He's gone. Don't ask me how, he
doesn't have any LIMBS, but he's gone. Somehow."
"What do we do?"
"What do we do?" echoed Keto, standing up and turning. Tara saw his
eyes narrow, "What we do is find where he is and ensure that he's
safely contained. I thought he was. Apparently not. Right...time to
clear out this rabble."
Tara blanched at the thought of Charles Keto on the loose. The slowly
driven insane brain in a jar was out. Somewhere. Tara followed Xavier
out of the office and looked around at the mess of people.
"Alright you lot. Who's next?" She asked.
==================
OOC: This was a JP between Tara/Becca and Keto/Chris. Tag anybody in
the medibay who wants to get treated and get out of there. Also,
nobody needs to worry about the brain in the jar just yet, so don't go
finding it or anything. ;)
