Jed Calvert - "Poking a chicken"

Who: Jed Calvert and Seymour the chicken
Where: The brig, Blue Dwarf
When: After the teams left the BD
Seymour wasn't enjoying being a chicken very much.
He especially hated being a chicken in a cell, it made him feel like a
battery hen. And he especially hated that his usual desire for fine
cuisine and good wine had now been replaced by a desire to eat lots of
grain and peck for dirt on the floor.
Another thing that Seymour really hated was Jed Calvert poking him. He
wanted to peck the wiry cowboy's eyes right out for poking him with
the big stick he was holding. Being a chicken, he now couldn't seem to
understand anything that Jed was saying, but he really didn't like the
tone of it.
"Stupid gorram Seymour!" Jed said, poking the chicken once more and
spitting some chewing tobacco at his feet.
"Do ya know how much you've cost me? Eh? Eh? Do ya? I could have got a
lot of money if I'd handed you over to those goons. But noooo ya had
to turn into a flaming chicken didn't ya?"
Jed thought once more about the money he's missed out on and threw his
cowboy hat to the ground and stamped on it.
Seymour watched with his empty and unintelligent chicken eyes as
Calvert put the hat back on.
Jed stared at him for a long time, then a grin came over the Cowboy
Captain's rugged face. He walked over to the cell and whispered to the
chicken.
"Dr Keto told me before he left that he'd given you an decontaminant
ointment so you're not infectious anymore."
Seymour the chicken tilted his head in a quizzical way.
"…So I want to try something. Call it…. One of my fantasies." Jed
continued in a low, ominous tone.
Seymour continued to stare at the cowboy. But his eyes grew wider as
Jed started to step closer to the cell. The chicken was wary of the
stick Jed was holding, as he didn't want to get poked again. But Jed
but the stick down and unlocked the cage, but there was something
about Jed's movements that made the feathered Seymour quite worried.
He backed up against the back wall of the cage as Jed opened the door.
He walked slowly towards him and Seymour started to squawk in fear.
Who knows what a sick man like Jed was capable of?
Jed was moving so slowly and calmly, but then in less than a second,
Jed had grabbed Seymour's beak and pulled him down the the ground.
Before Seymour could realise it, Jed was on his back shouting and
hollering calls of "Yee-haw!" and "Yahoo!"
Seymour wasn't sure what was going on so made a break for it, with Jed
on his back holding onto his feathers and loving it.
Seymour flapped his useless chicken wings and ran down the corridor,
Jed clinging on with one hand in the air and a massive grin on his face.
