*Action* - "Arrests and hospitalisations"

Who: Jay Chrysler and Chris Harris
Where: Jay's Office
When: As Jay gets arrested
<snip>
"Commander Chrysler..." Chris said "We are under orders to take you
into custody and await questioning by the Space Corp. C.I.D."
"Chris, c'mon man, you know it couldn't have been me!"
"I know mate, but orders is orders, don't make this harder than it
already is eh?"
Jay sighed, and held out his hands for the cuffs to be put on.
"Amber...guess the flight deck's yours for the moment!...."
<end snip>
Jay walked out of his office and into the corridor walking alongside
Security chief Harris, and closely followed by two burly Security
grunts. Jay tried not to let his head hang low, as he wanted to retain
his dignity as he passed fellow crewmembers. It was hard though, when
people they passed stood still and stared in disbelief at the sight of
the well respected Jay Chrysler in handcuffs.
Harris also found it extremely difficult to not be embarrassed. He had
worked with Chrysler for a long time now, and to have to arrest him
was tough. He hated having to do it, and to show Jay in handcuffs to
his fellow crewmembers, but it was regulations. Prime witnesses in a
murder case as serious as this had to be restrained as soon as possible.
Harris hoped that he was doing the right thing. His orders and
protocol told him he had to do this, but it felt wrong. There was a
chance however that Jay had been replaced with an alien shapeshifter,
and the real Chrysler was laying tied up somewhere. He hoped. He hated
the tonnes of paperwork that came with murder investigations.

Who: Seymour, Rosette and Jenny Bond
Where: Promenade
When: Just after Rosette fell on Jenny
<snip>
The grate landed in a shop on the promenade, on top of a scared and
unarmed Jenny Bond. the grate cracked her skull, knocking her
unconscious too.
<end snip>
Seymour had been talking to Jenny when he looked around, suddenly she
was laying on the floor with a heavy metal grate and Rosette LaChance
on top of her. Seymour shrieked and ran over.
Rosette was barely conscious, the bullet wound and fall proving bad
for your health, but Jenny was silent. Seymour was tempted to push
Rosette out of the way to get to the mother of his baby, but he
noticed Rosette bleeding heavily. He took a deep breath and applied
pressure to the wound, the seeping blood tricking through his fingers
made the squeamish Ambassador cringe and gag. Rosette's eyelids
flickered and she pointed upwards.
This was the full amount of warning Seymour got before a historic poet
hit him in the shoulder. For a few seconds, Seymour, Shakespeare,
Rosette and Jenny were all laying unmoving on the floor of the
Promenade. Nurse Mel Stratum walked over and assumed they were having
some kind of a protest.
"Get off me you fool, I'm a Royal Ambassador you know!"
Seymour pushed Shakespeare off, not even considering what great height
he had fallen from. He called some Security guards over, who quickly
knelt by the injured Rosette and Jenny.
"They're badly hurt. We'll take them to the medibay." Stratum said,
indicating the Security officers to help her, and they quickly scooped
the unconscious women off in stretchers.
Shakespeare wasn't looking so great either, dried blood around his
mouth and on his shirt indicated his torture, so he went along with them.
Seymour stood quietly staring after them. A light mechanical stomping
sound got closer to him and Mk9 tentatively waved a robotic hand in
front of his face. "Okay Seymour I'm fully charged again. But what do
I do with this? It won't stop crying."
Mk9 handed him a baby.
Baby Alota, Seymour's child with Jenny Bond. The baby cried as he held
it outstretched in his arms, not sure what to do with it. It stopped
crying long enough to puke in his face.

Who: Jayne and several gelfs
Where: Cargobay above the Promenade
When: Same time
Jayne looked down the hole that Jenny and Shakespeare had fallen down
and sighed deeply. She wasn't so annoyed that they had escaped, as it
was highly likely that they didn't contain the information she needed.
A nearby gelf who looked like a haggard stray dog tapped her on the
shoulder. "Miss..." he said.
"What is it? Have you brought me more people to interrogate?"
"Not exactly-"
"Why not? How are we going to get the encryption codes for the
Navigation database?"
"Well that's what I thought you would want to know miss-"
"Tell me!"
"The plan has worked perfectly miss. Jay Chrysler has been taken into
custody. He's being taken to the brig."
Jayne rubbed her hands together thoughtfully. "Brilliant! He's like a
chicken in a battery cage."
"He lays eggs miss?" said the dim messenger.
"No! I mean he can't escape. Bring him to me!"

Who: Jay Chrysler and Dante Wendigo
Where: Brig
When: Short time after
Jay rubbed his wrists. The handcuffs had been taken off, but only
because he was now in prison. A translucent forcefield wall blocked
his escape. This was only temporary until Harris could investigate
further, who had promised to attempt to clear Jay's name of the crime.
Dante was patrolling the cells. Jay was grateful for a familiar face,
although the large stoic alien wasn't much for idle chitchat.
Jay had been in his cell for 20 minutes when the forcefield was turned
off. Also the lights dimmed to emergency settings.
"Am I free already?" Jay asked, poking his head out of the cell. Dante
was there, but he was looking in alarm at every other cell forcefield
which had been turned off. Allowing the other inmates, thieves and
rapists to venture out of their cells.
"Everyone stay in your cells!" Dante commanded in his deep powerful
voice. But it didn't scare the hardened criminals, who rushed out at
their taste of freedom. Dante started shooting and hitting the
escaping inmates, and urged Jay to stay in the safety of his cell.
Jay wasn't sure what to do. His attention was quickly switched to some
newcomers joining the fight. A team of seven gelfs entered the brig,
all with heavy weapons. These were not the same genetically-engineered
dogs, but they were mutants. Three had elongated faces of crocodiles,
two looked feline, and the last two looked like some kind of filthy
rodents. They all looked fierce and were all looking at Jay.
"Come with us jay Chrysler!" they demanded.
Dante saw the danger and threw Jay a spare pistol. Jay prepared for a
fight.

Who: Chris Harris and Callum Kotchanski
Where: Engine room
When: Same time
The wormhole drive was twice as big as the all Hydrogen compressors
combined, and it took up 90% of the remaining space in the engine room
to hook it up. As a result, Engineering expanded into the toilets
across the hallway, and 5 consoles were set up in the mens room.
Callum finished off and zipped up his flies as he carried on working.
The wormhole drive was rarely working absolutely fine thanks to his
caring maintenance. As an extra reward for his hard work, Kotchanski
had also found that the large cooling pipes that criss-crossed the
exterior of the drive were at the temperature perfect for keeping 6
packs of beer. So he had several packs sneakily hidden around the drive.
He was about to finish his shift and crack open a can when Security
Chief Chris Harris ran into Engineering with a security team.
"Listen up, we don't have long. We've been tracking a team of the
ugliest Gelfs we've ever seen and they're headed this way. We think
they want to control the Wormhole Drive, which we can't let them, or
they could send us anywhere. So we're closing down Engineering.
EVERYONE OUT!!"
There were normally about 20 – 30 people working in Engineering at any
one time, so they all quickly exited. Harris pressed the button to
begin lowering the thick heavy door that would seal off the entire
room. It moved down slowly, giving everyone another three minutes to exit.
A clattering sound made Harris look down.
"GRENADE!!!" he shouted and dived for cover. A few of his men were
caught by the blast, but he escaped unscathed.
Harris took cover behind a barrel, and looked for his attackers. It
was the gelfs, and they were heading for Engineering. He fired a few
shots and took out one that looked like a rat, and one that looked
oddly like a shark.
The door was halfway closed, and Harris looked back. He saw Callum
Kotchanski running back to pick up his precious cold beer. "Just leave
it!" he shouted.
Harris considered pressing the button again to stop the door from
closing but the sound of something fast coming towards his head made
him duck. A bazookoid blast caused an explosion that could have ripped
his body into several parts.
"They've got bazookoids." Harris said to his men. He looked down at
the rifle he was carrying and wished he'd now brought something more
substantial.
He looked back at the Engineering door, it was almost closed and
Kotchanski was still inside. He had two choices, either leave
Kotchanski inside and let the door seal tightly, or risk the Gelfs
capturing the Wormhole Drive by rescuing Kotchanski.
OOC – tag to.... anyone! I've left it open for people to make their
own choices of what happens next:
Will Jay and Dante fight their way out or get captured and tortured?
Will Dr Keto heal Jenny and Rosette?
Will Harris save CK, or lock down the Wormhole Drive?
Will Seymour and Mk9 ever stop the baby from crying?
Will Sandra come out of the air vent and talk to Seymour or Mk9?
For other people not mentioned there may be similar fights going on
around the ship, or get yourself to the areas of action. Maybe
outflank the bad guys?
