Re: OOC- Fellow Blue Dwarfers...

Hello everyone, I just want to say I definately understand where
David is coming from. The Blue Dwarf started in 2000 and since then
there has been very few websites keeping the spirit of Red Dwarf
alive. Now, aside from messageboards, there is the Official Red Dwarf
fan club, and us!
We're the flagship of Red Dwarf entertainment on the web and the
website is still very popular with people coming all the time to
check us out.
Therefore it is our duty to not dissapoint the fans, and to keep the
story alive!
Okay that all sounds a bit dramatic, really, theres no pressure to
post, I'd rather you all write when you have a really good idea for a
story, or a sub-plot, or when something funny happened in your day
that you think would work very well in a short story.
I have heard from a few regular members that they're dead busy right
now, so I can't blame anyone for not posting, but as long as you guys
don't forget about us and still nurture those story ideas in the back
of your heads!
I mentioned before leaving for Thailand that I had some exciting
ideas for the Blue Dwarf. These might change the nature of the Blue
Dwarf over the next year, but the spirit of sci-fi crazyness will
always remain the same!
Recently I have joined a writing class and a separate writing club,
and I have realised that the quality of posts written about the Blue
Dwarf are very high. And having read just a few to other people, they
really enjoy them! And some people praise the idea of our grou as
such a good way to keep good quality storylines rolling.
So we're definately producing good stuff, so I'm going to try very
hard to do something with all our existing archive, because there's a
lot of really cool writing here.
People in the group have had far worse material published, so I'll
see if I can collate bundles of storylines and see if we can perhaps
get them into anthologies, or magazines, and really show our stuff
off.
I've been talking with a few people and the possibility of creating
audio recordings of stories is looking very probable now, David/Andy
Roos has already got started on recording a good chunk of a storyline
and I really appreciate his enthusiasm! A few other members have
expressed interest in creating recordings too, so hopefully we will
have something really great to present to the group (and to the
world!) very soon!
If I don't speak to everyone beforehand, I hope you all have a very
good Christmas!
