Andy - 'Daisy...' part 1

Who: Andy, Efof, Rufus and Charles Keto
Where: Science deck, Rufus's lab
When: 1 day after Actionette, 2 days left.
The first thing Andy noticed as he was rosed from sleep was the hushed
whispering, which had now risen to shouting. His eyes cracked open and
saw little in the way of light. The room was almost completely dark.
The janitor's scattered mind relished the lack of pain in his chest as
his weak limbs attempted to push himself up from the cushioned
surface. Propped up on elbows, Andy noticed that was on a rolling
stretcher. He'd been moved.
Eyelids almost refusing to move from the half-way point the Janitor
found himself rubbing his eyes as he gave a deep yawn and all without
any pain. "…Hello?" Andy groaned. Should he been awake for more than
ten minutes he would have rethought his actions but at the moment he
would have mistaken coffee for break fluid.
The speaking suddenly stopped. Within seconds Andy found himself
beside upon by four blue arms and an overly-happy face in hot pursuit.
"ANDY!!" The Alien yelled as he constricted the cleaner with all four
of his limbs "You're aliv- erm Awake! Yep! Definitely no chance of
causing death by moving you, right?" The Ffionian added, looking over
to Rufus with an expectant glance. "Uhhh… yeah… good thing…yup." The
scientist coughed and rubbed his arm nervously. Charles rolled up
behind the boy and pipped out cheerfully. "Well, I guess I was over
reacting after all! Dreadfully sorry about ramming you both in the
heels for accidentally tipping over his trolley a few times."
Andy's eyebrows contorted. "Tipped…a few times?" Well, that explained
why he had a bandage on his forehead. Not quite why he didn't feel it
though.
"No-no-no, that doesn't matter now. You get some rest, okay?" Efof
stated as his surprisingly strong arms pushed his chest back down to
the bed. Or maybe he was just weak.
Then Efof rounded back on Rufus. "I don't care how you do it; just get
that bid off the line! I'm NOT going back to New Ffion!!" The boy
stood and glared at the alien. "Planet eBay is more computers than
living space! It has over 40 km2 of space for RAM cards ALONE!! Even
if we could somehow get access to the most powerful piece of hardware
on the ship we'd still-." The argument was suddenly cut off by a
prolonged mirthful laugh.
Andy was holding his sides as he vocally expressed his amusement. "I
think you gave him too much painkillers." Rufus said offhandedly to
the robo-doc. "What's so funny?" Efof pried, his ex was a VERY serious
matter.
"No…No… *Cough* I just never thought to ever see you two, you of all
people, having a shouting match." The Janitor stated as he slowly
clamed down. Efof and Rufus didn't know if they where just
complimented or insulted.
"Anyway… what's wrong? Maybe I can help." Rufus shook his head at the
cleaner's request. "Andy you're too weak to help and unless you
suddenly turned into a super-hacker from when I last saw you… then the
best you can do is just rest."
The two turned from Andy and continued their argument. Lying back
down, the Janitor was deep in thought. They couldn't do this alone.
He'd never heard of a place like eBay, but he had done something like
this before. Unless the internet site suddenly stopped having ships
having uplinks to their main server for verification like they used
to… then maybe. But even then, what would he do? If he disrupted the
bidding they would just put it up again.
But wait… if he could get Earth's attention. No, out of the question,
too dangerous. Andy's eye peeked open and saw the two people he cared
most about on this ship arguing. No… he'd have to risk it. It was
worth it. The janitor looked up at an EMP prod next to a pile of
scrapped skutters.
Plus it'd make everyone shit their pants.
"Doctor Keto…" Andy groaned up at the robot, now to make sure there
were no witnesses. A whir of hydraulics and the brain-bot was upon
him. "What is it? Has the pain returned? Would you like a shot of
tranquilizer to sleep better?" "No…erm… you see. I know a better
computer vantage point." The cleaner stated lamely. The robot
squeaked, if it was mechanical or actually the doctor was
indeterminable. "Oh dear, is that what our friends are looking for?"
"Yeah… it's on the lower decks I used to go by there all the time."
Andy replied lamely.
"Oh! Are you sure it'll get them into what they need?" The doctor asked.
"Well… they can't do a thing anyway up here, right?"
"Just so you know; I'll have to stay here with you in case your
condition worsens, All right?
"I know doctor…" Andy stated before whispering. "…I'm prepared for that."
Apparently, this was all the robot needed as he wheeled away to the
others. Within a few minutes Charles convinced the boy-genius and the
alien to go halfway across the ship for a storage room with nothing
but spare Bazookoids inside. They took the high road by filling into
the vents and on their merry way.
"Well then, it looks like things are staring to look up again.
Wouldn't you agree mr.-?" A loud electrical hissing screeched as Andy
shoved the EMP prod into the Machine's sensory units. Charles let out
a surprised yelp while his mechanical unit began to flail in panic as
the temporally blinded and deafened doctor began to whirl around in
circles. Andy simply kneeled down and deactivated all non-vital
systems with a simply jab to the 'off' button.
"Sorry doc, but what I'm about to do… No one can know."
Andy sucked in a deep breath and stared at the console in front of
him. It was game time.
