scutters
Joe Schweeble was running through the corridors of the Blue Dwarf with a
bazzokoid in his hands, the ship was totally deserted.
He heard the noise again, a sound like a small motor.
He ran round the next corner and stopped abruptly. In front of him were
five scutters, each of them held a weapon of somekind, two had large butcher
knives, one with a small pistol, one with a piece of wood with a nail
through it and the other with a frag-grenade.
"This doesn't look good" Joe thought.
They started towards him, there was a swishing noise and one of the butcher
knives burried into the wall by his head.
He aimed the bazzokoid and fired, nothing, the bazzokoid had jammed.
"Oh smeg" Joe shouted and started running the other way, he tripped over
something and hit the floor hard.
Two scutters were either side of the corridor holding some wire between
them.
"Tripwire, the little bastards" Joe said, he tried to get up but the two
scutters grabbed his legs, the other five were catching up.
The one with the pistol aimed at Joe's head and pulled the trigger.
Joe woke with a start, cold sweat dripping down his neck. He was in his
quarters on the toilet, he must have fallen asleep and had been dreaming.
This worried Joe as about 2 in every 5 of his dreams seemed to actually
happen, he hoped that this was one of the other 3.
Joe glanced down at his watch, it was 2.29pm.
He heard a strange rumbling coming from beneath him.
"What the hell is that?" Joe wondered and then remembered what Donnover told
him earlier *At about 2.30pm everyday, five foot high flames shoot out of
the toilet*
Joe dived off the toilet with about 2 seconds to spare, there was a loud
wooshing sound as the flames shot out of the bowl. and scorched the ceiling.
"That was too close"Joe thought "I need a drink"
And with that he left his room and headed towards 'Parrots'
