Cmdr Niples "Loosing emotions 2"

Niples sat in his office with a bottle in his hand, he was discovering that a world without love was not a nice place to live.
 
There was a knock at the door.
"Ahh, Feck off!"
The door opened and Jason Smegg peeked his head into the office.
"Sir, we have a slight problem..."
 
"I don't care about your problems lard boy!"
"But sir, this problem involves us all..."
"I don't care about anyone, not even myself- so how can it be my problem?"
Smegg was getting sick of the insults, plus he didn't know what to do- or who to go to. The commander was now unfit for command, and the captain, well- the captain was NEVER fit for command.
He just decided to tell him. Honesty and bluntness were the only strategies he had left.
"Sir, we have a polymorph aboard. Well... more than one...five in fact."
 
"Oh my god!" said Niples in mock amusement. "you can count!"
 
"What shall we do?!!" shouted Smegg, ignoring the last comment.
"Go and tell the Captain. He's supposed to be the person around here that you tell this stuff to."
Smegg frowned. "But you know as well as me that he's hopeless!"
 
Just as he had spoken the Captain boldly walked into the office. He looked like a completely new man, his hair was gelled back- instead of being all over the place like it usually was, and he was wearing a uniform, an Ironed uniform! Not just a creased jacket that hadn't been washed for a fortnight.
 
Smegg was stunned by what he saw. Niples didn't give a shit.
"Captain Cannon?" said Smegg, bewildered. "What happened to you?"
"Well..." started the Captain, sounding like a man who cared about the crew and the ship. The kind of voice that implies that he can't do anything wrong.
"...I was feeling that I had started to neglect my duties and my crew."
 
"Oh, where did you get a silly idea like that?!" snapped Niples, unconsiderate of the Captains feelings.
 
"I very nice creature with a big tongue and lots of teeth showed me that I was wrong- so I changed. I'm now going to be the best Captain I can ever be."
"creature with a big tongue..."? asked Smegg, and took his scanner out of his pocket and ran it over the unbelievable Captain.
"He's lost his incompetance."
"whoopie." droned Niples.
 
"He's now a perfect Captain!"
"Why thank you Lieutenant." Said Captain Cannon.
"Sir," said Smegg adressing the Captain. "We have at least 5 alien intruders aboard, what shall we do?"
 
Cannon went into full alert, "Five aliens?! Go to red alert immediately, get me Harris on the comm- tell him to post security guards all over the ship. We don't want these aliens attacking the civilians onboard. We also want to capture one for study..."
He turned to Smegg, who was watching with awe what a proper Captain was supposed to do.
"Lieutenant, I want you to work with the science department and also with the security team. I want you to capture at least one of these aliens."
 
"Yes sir!" replied Smegg enthusiastically.
