Dysart - 'the perfect spy Pt1'

Who: unknown
Where: Pink Dwarf exterior
When: one month beforehand
Space... far as the eye could see.
If it weren't for the stars mankind could look at it and wonder if
they had temporarily gone blind.
Then again, they could just look at the massive Jupiter Mining
Corporation space hulk- the pink dwarf and merely wish it upon
themselves instead.
Still... all was not lost for upon the unsightly medical-training
craft was a tiny blue speck.
This blue speck was a skutter. Correction, this blue speck was a
skutter on a mission of importance. Moreso... this was no ordinary
skutter, it was a robot with human-class AI.
So you could imagine just how bitter and angry it was.
Scrolling across the Barbie-imagined hell-scape the painfully slow
treads of the skutter pulled it towards it's target with all the sheer
unbridled urgency of a comatose sloth.
Still it needs to be said that the Skutter was even less willing.
There... there it was... just outside the small port window of the
captain's quarters. The contraband of choice... a holodisk of illicit
materials that was simply bound to have occurred aboard a ship with
trainee nurses.
Especially with a twenty-something guy for a captain.
Suddenly an over-eager face slammed against the nearby port window.
The captain... and skutter's black mailer. Dressed at all times in a
perfect white officer's suit that hardly befitted his youthful
disregard. The problem wasn't entirely one sided. The small robot did
have some tidbits of his own. This would be much more useful if it
weren't for the fact that he'd be deleted as soon as he attempted to
approach the proper authorities.
"...Target sighted." A jaded voice horsed through the hands free
radio. The Skutter's spindly appendages pointed towards the disk which
was brambled up in a few wires.
"Excellent... now... approach with the utmost care...!" The captain
returned haltingly, as though someone was poking him with a pin with
each cm that the skutter approached the data diske.
"Captain, I'd like to go on record stating my sheer and utter
resentment for this." The radio reminded the captain.
"Your record is noted and hence-forth removed due to your illegal
status... now... SCAN THE BLOODY DISK!!"

Who: Unknown
Where: Pink Dwarf interior
When: Minutes after
Back inside the captain's quarters where hardly better condition than
the hard vacuum of space... at least in the skutter's opinion.
Threadbare, ignored and pretty much abandoned- a hologram didn't need
sleeping quarters. This wasn't helped by the fact that captain didn't
need to sleep and hence didn't use his bed.
Except when... well... the crew needed it.
Take that as you will.
The captain held the data drive in his hands as though it was a
precious artifact from a forgotten era. His white suit twisted
realistically and his medals jangled about while he cradled the
information in his hands.
"Ahh yes... oh perfect... with this. I'll *finally* have those specs
for a hard light drive... then... then... Well no more simultaneous
holo for me!"
"*Ahem*" The skutter's voice grunted through the radio wrapped around
the Captain's head who immediately threw his hand's up in the air with
a squeak.
"Oh... hehe... it's just you Dry-ass." The captain replied dismissively.
"Captain Smegg... my name is Dysart." The radio continued. "And I'd
like the auxiliary holofrom back."
The captain merely rolled his eyes and reached into his pocket.
Pulling out the oft-abused light bee he gave a single flick to the
switch and tossed it into the air.
Within a second a hologram appeared in it's place while the bee held
it's position in mid-air.
A scowling man filled it's place.
Slightly hunched over and dressed in non-regulation blue dungarees
with a dark black shirt, the well-known but always aloof computer
specialist of the ship fixed him with a glare. A head ful of bushy
brown hair along with strong facial features- had he not been a
hologram he'd have thought that some of the more eager nurses would've
tried to snap him up.
Oh yeah, and the fact that Dysart was a known stowaway. All balanced
out by the way he saved the pink dwarf after it was sabotaged. That
has to count for something, right?
"So Jason, if thats all you want to hold me to ransom for I've got a
ship to tend to." With that Dysart turned from the officer and
motioned to the door.
"Actually Armend..." The captain stated softly. "There's someone you
ought to meet."
Out the corner of his eye a single darkly dressed man walked through
the door of the captain's quarters. "Hello Lt. Dysart... or perhaps I
ought to say... Mr. Roos?"
Dysart's eyes widened and his head snapped back to his captain.
"I'm sorry Armend." The captain stated softly, suddenly finding
interest in the floor. "I'm just a hologram... like you. The JMC is
the only thing that is keeping me alive."
Before the former hacker could even voice a word of protest he found
felt a box-like square plunge through his back and connection with his
light bee. A microsecond later and tens of thousands of electrical
volts snapped through his invisible body... then everything went black.
<To be continued...>
OOC: New Character post! Nothing has really happened yet; don't be too
put off. All the meaty stuff will be happening next!
Oh yeah and I'm trying to have this as something as a reboot for my
writing. Trying to focus a bit more on being funny rather than angsty.
