Rosette - Back on Big Blue

<snip>
In the cramped lift, there wasn't much space between them, but Jed
(or whatever he now was) stepped even closer to Rosette.
"I want to taste your red blooood!" He said in an
American/Hymenopteran accent.
</snip>
"There's no way you're getting my blood, you freak!" Rosette replied,
drawing her knives. She held them out in front of her, taking small
slashes at the beast that was now attempting to assault her.
"Why am I even here?" she asked herself as she took off the tip of one
of Jed's legs. He screamed in pain, and redoubled his efforts, one of
his legs piercing her right shoulder. She too screamed out in pain,
and only just had enough strength in the arm to re-sheath her knife -
No way she was losing it in a place like this.
Luckily for her, the door opened at that time, the lift had reached
the floor. Tumbling out, Rosette vaulted over the front desk, and out
into more open space. The many legs of Jed gave him a speed
advantage, and he was soon in front of her, blocking the door.
Jed roared with an insectoid sound that vaguely resembled someone
yelling "Blooood!". He lunged at her, her one good arm deflected a
leg, but the others smashed into her, sending her flying backwards,
the knife leaving her hand, sticking into the wooden counter above her.
She reached up to grab the knife, watching as Jed approached all too
quickly, grabbing her legs. Fortunately, Jed's pulling helped
un-wedge the knife from the counter, allowing her to counter-attack,
tearing another of his legs. He let go of her, dropping her to the
floor directly in front of her... She lay on her back, and looked
up... The door, not too far away, and definitely within running distance.
Rolling back, she regained her footing and ran full pelt towards the
door. Behind her, Jed roared, now down to six legs he was only
stupidly fast, rather than terrifyingly so. She reached the door, and
pushed... Nothing. She turned around, cornered by the gigantic
arachnid Hymenoptera version of Jed Calvert.
Two of his legs arched back, ready to strike... Rosette closed her
eyes, knowing that with only one good arm, she couldn't block both of
them. The sound she heard next was that of shattering glass, and
falling rock.
Her life flashed before her eyes, but as she wasn't looking, she
didn't see it. Instead, she opened her eyes a second later, and saw a
huge wall of rubble just in front of her, nearly touching her toes.
She gulped, and turned around again, the glass door had been broken,
and her freedom was at hand. She stepped out into the light, and
sheathed her other knife.
"YES!" she shouted, leaping into the air, attempting to punch the sky.
This turned out to be a very bad idea, as her shoulder was still
bleeding, and hurt alot. Instead of a celebration of her survival, it
turned into a swearing contest with herself, to try and fight the
pain. She fell to her knees, her eyes glazed over... Then everything
went black.

Meanwhile, on the Blue Dwarf
-----------------------------
"Commander, We have an incoming transmission from the JMC." One of the
newer crewmembers piped up, he was sat at comms, monitoring transmissions.
Sat behind him, in the Captains chair was a very slightly nervous
woman who went by the name of Amber. She had alot of command
experience with navigation, and even helped lead an assault on Earth
while she was under the control of the Hymenoptera. Nevertheless, she
had never had command of the Blue Dwarf before, and she knew how many
thousands of things could go wrong at any time.
"Put it through." she said, watching the viewscreen ahead of her. An
image of an old man appeared, with a white beard, and shiny hat that
looked like it belonged in the Space Corps.
"Admiral.." Amber said, showing her respects for a superior officer.
The admiral nodded at her, and cleared his throat.
"I am assuming you have been put in command, at your Captains
absence?" He asked, this was confirmed by Amber, then the Admiral
began saying what he had contacted them for.
"If you check your scanners, you will see a small fleet of unoccupied
space craft, a selection of Space Eagles, and shuttles. This is your
replacement, after the recently troubles. I understand you lost quite
a few craft during the exchange, so Captain Chrysler ordered some
replacements." He said, and waited for the scanners to be checked.
"Yes Sir, scanners are picking up the craft." he said, turning back
to his post.
Amber thanked the Admiral, and the transmission ended. Shortly
afterwards, the spacecraft were picked up and checked over by the
flight mechanics.
Beyond anyone's view, one of the Space Eagles doors opened, and
closed. One occupant left, and disappeared into the shadows.
"Did someone see that?" One of the engineers asked. No one had. All
he had seen was a black blur that vanished as fast as it had appeared...
Throughout the corridors of the Blue Dwarf, screams echoed as several
people swore they had seen a giant insect, some kind of two-legged
beetle running about the corridors...
---------------------------------
Rosette sat up quickly, and coughed loudly. She had disturbed alot of
dust from the floor around her in her haste to get up. She looked
around, and then down at the ground around her, before finally
noticing that she was lying on a dusty metal floor, stark naked. As
she stood up, something crunched under her feet... Something that
looked like scales... Upon closer inspection, she would have seen them
almost like small insect shells.
"smegging hell!" she shouted as she realised her predicament. She
looked around for a place to hide. She soon got her bearings back as
she looked to a sign on the wall (a dusty one, of course) that said
'storage field 3B'
"Thats on the Blue Dwarf.." she thought out loud, and turned to the
boxes that littered the great hall. A crowbar hung on the wall, which
was soon used to crack open some of the boxes. Luckily for her, they
contained basic clothing... Unfortunately for her, the one she had
found had nothing but jeans that were too big for her, and boys
t-shirts. Not having much of a choice, she put them on, and headed
for the door.
<Tag people... Did anyone see a Bug in the hallway?>
