School time

Who:- Jay, Dean, Phil
Where:- London
When:- December 2088
"DEAN!" Jay yelled from the drivers seat. "Stop changing history! That's an
order"
"Aww..." Dean whimpered as he pulled his trousers back up and sat back down
on the back seat of Jay's convertible. "I was only mooning people!"
"Yes. But you caused three cars to crash! You may have just inadvertently
erased Doctor Keto from history!"
"Would that be a bad thing?"
"It would be" Phil replied "When you return to the future and find that
you're dead because he wasn't alive to save you!"
"KEEP MOONING DEAN!" Jay said again "Let's see if you can get a two-fer!"
"Y'know..." Dean said "I've been thinking."
"About what"
"We've all just been blindly taking orders from Jay since we got here.."
"He's the Captain!" Phil snapped
"Well that's just it, he's not! He'll be promoted to Captain in 20 years,
sure, but here he's just an 8 year old!"
"Ok" Jay said "You take charge then. Then we can all blame you if we smeg
this mission up!"
"You would, wouldn't you." Dean said "You'd never bloody let me hear the end
of it if I erase us all from history"
"Dam right"
"Jay...you're the captain...you tell us what to do..." Dean said, sulking.
Jay stopped the car in a road opposite a primary school.
Children were playing in the playground.
"You sure this is the place?" Jay asked, looking through the chain-link
fence. "I can't see anyone that looks like you"
"Trust me" said Phil "I did go to school here, I should know!"
"Then where are you? The entire school is in the playground, but you're
nowhere to be seen!"
"I'm probably in detention..it's Friday.."
"Why does that mean you'd be in detention?" Dean asked
"I'd had a nasty habit of flashing the girls every friday lunchtime. The
teachers started keeping me in instead..."
"Would the assassin know that?" Dean said.
"Probably..his people have studied the three of us in depth...why?"
Phil never got a reply, Jay and Dean had leapt from the car and were now
bounding toward the school and into the main doors.
Dean bounded down the corridor ahead of Jay "DEAN WAIT!" Jay yelled "WHERE
DO WE LOOK?"
"No idea...guess we try every classroom..."
He began running up and down the corridor, looking into every classroom
window to spot a young-version of Phil.
Jay spotted a school-plan on a notice board.
"Dean look, it says here, third floor...room 4C?"
Dean nodded and the pair bounded for the stairwell and into the classroom.
Sure enough a young Phil sat at a lonely desk, writing "I will not expose my
pee-pee to the girls" over and over.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?" Demanded the teacher who had been assigned to
supervise Phil "Who are you? I'll call the police!"
"We're uh..." began Jay
"Erm..." offered Dean
"It's like this..."
"We're...Phil's um...Parents! that's right!"
"Phillips Parents?" questioned the teacher
"Yes" Dean continued "Gay adoption and all that...we need to..."
There was a gunshot, and the window shattered. Dean and the teacher whirled
around and Jay was picking himself up off the floor having dived at the
young Phil and throwing both he and the child to the floor, clear of the
bullets path.
Jay grabbed the child and placed him over his shoulder. "Come with me if you
want to live!" he said, and belted out of the room.
Dean looked back at the teacher. Then at the door, then back at the teacher.
"So...we'll catch up at the next PTA meeting?"
Phil meanwhile had heard the gunshot, and had entered the building looking
for the assassin. He'd armed himself with the first thing that had come to
hand -
a rolled up newspaper.
He scoured the halls of the building, it wa sa warehouse of some kind. A
book depositiroy to be precise, phil had seen the muzzle flash of the rifle
somewhere on the sixth floor, and had headed up the stairs.
Phil clutched his newspaper tightly as he turned a corner, something upahead
moved and he leapt into action, waving his paper like a madman.
He stopped when he realised that it was nothing more than a rat...Phil was
too late..
