(Blue Dwarf) Frank Harris 'Stranger things have not happened'

Blue Dwarf
Cargo hold
Harris finally located the way out of the cargo hold when the lights went out and replaced with those dull red lights. Someone had set the ship to red alert.
Great, Harris throught to himself, if there wasn't a mass panic in the civilian pulpous there would be one now.
"Drive room to Major Harris." Came over the com.
"Cannon!?" The Major replied with an amount of surprise.
"Yes, Major." The Captain said over the com. "We have hostiles aboard. I need you to setup you security staff around the shipÂ…"
"How the hell can I when Van Threk has disabled my security codes and relived me of my duties?!" Harris told the Captain.
"Your security codes should be enabled in a few moments and as of now you are back on duty." The Captain reported.
This is the work of one of those emotion suckers, Harris told himself, the Captain was actually doing his job.
"What the hell is going on?!" Harris demanded.
"Lt. Smegg will explain." Cannon replied.
"We have been invaded by five polymorphs and they feed off emotions." Lt. Smegg started to explain over the com.
"I know they feed off emotions!" Harris snapped. "One of the beggars swiped my fear! Anyway, its' now four and now I have my fear back."
"I know who to kill the polymorphs." Smegg said.
"How?!" Harris demanded to know.
"We lure them into a microwave and then cook them." Smegg finished sounding full of himself.
"Smegg, you plan sucks like a toothless old granny!" Harris commented.
"It will work!" Smegg replied. "But first we need to catch one so we can study it!"
"And how the hell do you suggest we do that?!" Harris demanded to know and then he started on another matter while he still had the chance. "Captain, about the request for Jackson to be promoted"
"Has already been sorted to Major." The Captain answered. "Tiny Jackson now has the rank of sergeant, now he just needs informing."
Harris turned to see the security team lead by Jackson watching him and Harris said. "I think he already knows."
"Remember Major, we want one alive!" The Captain told the Major, like he needed reminding.
"'Sergeant' Jackson, you heard the captain, get out there and catch one of these critters." Harris ordered.
"Yes Major Harris sir." Jackson replied.
"And Jackson, try and not let any of these polymorphs get killed. I want the captain to remain in his current state and I'm sure that everyone else on the ship wants the same thing!" Harris told Jackson.
"Will do." 'Sergeant' Jackson replied.
Meanwhile on the promenade
A group of security officers led by Private Lloyd, who just happened to be carrying a grenade launcher, entered the promenade to see the civilians in mass panic.
"Get these people out of here!" Lloyd ordered.
The other security officers did as they were ordered and began to round up the civilians and lead them out of the promenade.
With enough of the civilians gone Lloyd saw the cause of the panic in the dull red lighting. A creature that stood about seven foot tall, had teeth like meat knives and to top it off a major drooling problem was just standing in the centre of the promenade and looking at the panicking civilians in the same manner as farm checking to see what crops were ripe.
"Fire in the hull!" Lloyd yelled and the other security officers and civilians took cover.
Lloyd went down onto one knee and took aim with the grenade launcher. She then pulled the trigger, the creature saw the grenade flying at it and morphed into a trampoline that was lying on its' side, the grenade stuck the centre of the trampoline and was sent flying back at Lloyd and as she threw herself out of the way she commented. "Ah crap!"
The grenade exploded behind the Private reducing the MacDonald to rubble. Lloyd groaned as Nipels wasn't going to be very happy about the fact his favourite restaurant was now a burnt out husk.
The trampoline changed into a slug like creature and then it dashed off, disappearing to the jungle of legs.
