Trying to find someone in command

Who: Johnny & Eric
Where: Their quarters
After finding their way to their quarters, getting changed and eating all the steak of a whole cow between them, Johnny realised he had no idea of what was happening on the ship.
"Holly," Johnny called out, "can you tell me what's going on?"
There was no answer.
"Holly?"
Still no answer.
"HOLLY!" both Johnny & Eric yelled out.
There was still no response so they left their quarters.
"Hey you," Eric called out to a random crewmember, "where's Jed?"
"Jed who?" the random perosn replied.
"Who know, Captain Jed Calvert, fastet whiskey bottle in the west?"
"No idea who you're talking about, sorry."
"But surely you know the Captain?" Johnny asked.
"Yeah, Captain Chrysler."
"Alota? She came back from the dead?" The notion wasn't too unfamiliar on the Blue Dwarf these days.
"No, Jay Chrysler." the random crewmember informed them.
"But Jay is the Head of Navigation and Chief Pilot!" Johnny exclaimed.
"No, he's not."
"But Jay gave me a job here as a pilot years ago!" Johnny said.
"Captain Chrysler gave me a job as a cleaner here last month. I've never heard of him being Chief Navi-whatever." The random person was starting to get really annoyed, so they walked off.
Johnny and Eric were left scratching their heads.
"No Holly, No Jed and Jay is Captain..." Eric scratched his chin in thought. "You know what this means?"
"Yeah." Johnny replied. "We must be in a parallel universe!"
