Pancake has a "reaction" to the green blood

<snip>
Justin turned to leave but the insect followed him. "Hey it likes me!" he said.
"Maybe it's the Hymenoptera blood. Does it have a name?"
"No."
"I'll call him Dave. Can it be my pet? I've never had a pet dragonfly before."
"No, now please leave. And don't let it get outside. It's very important for
ointment #388!"
"Okay I'll-*gulp*"
Justin's eyes widened. Keto bit his lip.
"I'm really sorry." Justin choked. "I ate your dragonfly."
"OUT!" Keto demanded.

Who: Justin Pancake, Dr Keto and a soon-to-be digested dragonfly called Dave
Where: Medibay
When: After Justin ate the dragonfly
Justin turned to leave the Blue Dwarf's medical centre, his veins pumping the
tiny amount of Hymenoptera blood that he'd injected around his body. Dr Keto had
told him that such a small amount of blood wouldn't do anything to him, but
Justin was still hopeful it would fulfil his fantasy of becoming a Hymenoptera.
He got through the doors when something strange started to happen. He felt a
rumbling in his stomach, and a fluttering feeling. He started to wonder if Dave
the dragonfly was still alive in there.
Justin fell down onto one knee, keeping a hand on the door frame. Dr Keto saw,
and quickly shouted to the nurse. "Vanessa, come quick!" He rushed over and
checked Justin's pulse. He was getting sweaty in the face, and started clutching
at the doctor's white labcoat.
"Is this it doc, am I turning into a Hymenoptera?" Dr Keto scowled. "I sincerely
doubt it."
But even the doctor was starting to wonder now. He'd never tested injecting
Hymenoptera DNA straight into the bloodstream before, there was a chance that
the lunatic Pancake was right all along.
Justin clutched his stomach and winced in pain. "My stomach, it hurts!" he said.
The nhe started looking around at his arms and legs. "Do I have any spider legs
yet? Is my skin turning dark green?"
Keto looked. "No, not really." He said.
Nurse Vanessa passed a medical Psi-scanner to Keto, and he hovered it over the
man's body.
"What is it?" Said Justin.
"Well, these are... odd readings."
"Odd like I'm changing into an alien?"
"No!" Snapped Keto. "Just odd okay!"
Justin stopped wincing, and started to relax for a while. Keto stood up and took
the psi-scanner over to a computer. "It will take me an hour to process these
results. For the time being, just go and get some food or something."
Justin rolled around on the floor. "But Doc, what if I change into a spider when
I'm in the cafeteria?"
"Get up off my floor and clear off!" Said Keto. "I'm sick of seeing you here,
wasting my time with your delusions about becoming a horrible spider! What kind
of moron wants to be a spider anyway?"
Justin got up off the floor and walked out quietly.

Who: Jay, Phil and Justin
Where: Parrotts bar
When: Just before Phil punched Efof
Justin sat on a table at the back, eating a box of Chinese noodles that he'd got
from "City-wok" just down the Promenade. He wasn't trying to listen into the
conversation between Phil and the Captain, but the conversation they were having
was so loud that it made it impossible to not listen. Justin never really knew
Phil, but having someone come back from the dead (or another universe) was
reasonably interesting entertainment.
<snip>
At some point, Seymour Nipples tuned evil...VERY evil. He stole some
experimental Hymonoptera technology and tried to fame Earth.
It backfired, the Hymenoptera actually started working WITH Earth. In return for
allowing them to settle on planets we would have no interest in, they helped
terraform the ones we did, provided medical technlogy and bio-ships.
Heck , in my universe, you Jay was one of the first pilots to volunteer for the
bonding procedure. As the ships aged and the pilots grew in skill, they helped
turned the war.

Justin's ears pricked up like a dogs at those words. There was a "bonding
procedure"? That sounded interesting to him, it must have been a way for Humans
to interface with Hymenoptera technology. Since Hymenoptera technology was
organic, it must have meant the Humans had to go through a physical change, to
become more like a Hymenoptera.
Justin was so excited, that might be exactly what he wanted. Not just to become
a half-Hymenoptera, but to use their weapons, and fly their ships too. He
quickly scoffed down the mouthful of noodles he had, as he wanted to ask Phil as
soon as possible.
The noodles were being problematic though. They seemed to be one long strand
that he continued to suck into his mouth, and they never seemed to end. He
slurped what he thought was the last noodle, and stood up to go ask Phil more
about this "bonding procedure".
As he approached Phil though, he punched someone. Justin ducked as a four armed
blue creature flew straight over his head.
"Bollocks, was that Efof?" He said.
Phil, Jay and Efof started to talk (and Efof started to cry, the big girl). And
Justin was just about to butt in when he had the pain in his stomach again. He
pressed it with his hand, but it became more intense this time, and more painful
than before.
The pain was sharp, and then it was replaced by a fluttering feeling, as if
something was inside him. Maybe Dave the dragonfly was still in there, battling
the noodles he'd just scoffed.
Justin fell to his knees, which was when he attracted the attention of the
Captain and his parallel-universe buddy. Justin screamed in pain.
"What's wrong Ensign?" Jay said.
"My stomach..."
"I saw you eat those noodles pretty fast. Could it be indigestion?"
"More than just... noodles." Justin said. He lifted his tshirt and exposed a
lump on his belly. It pulsed and moved, and started to grow.
"Oh my god!" Said the Captain.
Phil cringed, and Efof was almost sick.
They laid Justin on a table, and examined the lump which was still growing. The
skin around it was starting to get tight.
"Call Dr Keto!" Jay shouted at a waitress. "This can't be good!"
Jay stepped back, expecting the growing lump in Justin's stomach to explode at
any time. Showering blood, and Justin's insides all over Parrotts bar.
Luckily it didn't explode outwards. Phil approached the lump and pressed down on
it with his finger, and it seemed to go away.
"Where did it go?" Said Justin.
Then he blew the biggest and loudest raspberry they'd ever heard. Justin looked
embarrassed, Jay and Phil looked disgusted, and Efof just laughed.
"I'm really sorry." Said jsutin, wiping the air with his hand. "I think I might
have just.... I think I've... well... I think there's something in my pants!"
He was right. Efof screamed and pointed to something wriggling around in his
trousers. "What is it? What is it?" The Ffionian gripped onto Phil' shoulder,
hiding behind him. "Is it a living poo?"
The lump crawled around to the front of Justin's trousers, and tentatively he
started to unzip his fly. With the Captain and other watching, Justin felt more
nervous than he ever had as he unzipped his trousers.
"The cage is open, but the beasts asleep." Said Justin. "Or IS it?"
Something came out of his flies. It was a dark green insect, a dragon fly.
It started to buzz around the room, circling Jusin's head.
"It's DAVE!" He shouted with glee.
"Why?"
"Dave the Dragonfly! It's one of Dr Keto's test specimens. I swallowed it."
The Captain phrased his next question slowly and carefully. "Ensign. Why did a
dragonfly just come out of your bottom?"
Justin shrugged and got off the table. "No idea. He looks different too, bigger
maybe. It could be something to do with the hymenoptera blood I injected
earlier."
"Oh my gods!" Shouted Efof. "You just gave birth to a tiny Hymenoptera!"
"Oh yeah." Said Justin, and his face turned into a beaming smile. "I guess I
did!"
Justin held his hand out and Dave the Half-Hymenoptera dragonfly landed on it.
Justin grinned like a proud father.
"This never would have happened in my universe." Said Phil.
